Exactly. This whole notion of "I've got nothing to hide, so I'll just cooperate with tyranny" thinking can only lead to bad outcomes. Make them earn their tyranny. This guy should have known better. Pick your battles? The guy thought things would have gotten worse had he not complied? Come on. Again, make them show a warrant or tell them to get bent.

Perhaps the fact that he stepped outside and ultimately acquiesced illustrates that he is not entirely mentally competent.

Kinda like the phrase: "I think that anybody who wants to see a psychiatrist ought to have his head examined."
