Doing shots of everclear is not macho, it is just stupid. As in, it will kill you stupid. Only someone very young or very stupid or a dumb pledge about to be molested by their fraternity would do everclear shots.

I don't know how to explain it to you anymore than to say, nothing is added to beer to hide the taste of alcohol, that fruitiness' whole purpose is to hide the flavor of the alcohol in those malt liquor drinks, and any other fruity drink. In essence, to make you not taste the alcohol.

A rum and coke doesn't hide the flavor of the rum, same with whiskey or a vodka tonic. Beer taste like beer because that is how the alcohol inside it is made.

i wont disagree that shots of everclear is stupid, ive done it only a few times but you mentioned hiding the taste of alcohol (and it hasnt killed me), which there really isnt anything that compares to everclear (190 proof). Beer is typically only 6%, so the other 94% is something other then beer (alcohol).

i guess my point is, so what if i enjoy a fruity drink once in a while? I dont drink it to hide the taste of alcohol, the fact that i drink 151 and everclear points that out, i drink it just because i enjoy the taste every so often.
