I haven't listened to Sonny Rollins since probably '93, and just last week, his album was back on my playlist.
I love his songs so much, especially this one: "There is a time."
When I listen to it, I feel like the whole world is running away.
You know what I mean...
It's the saddest song ever - and yet, like all of his music, it's filled with light energy and positivity. But It makes me so sad instead. I rarely hear his compositions in jazz clubs. It reminds me that life goes on. If you listen to his albums, be prepared for him to try to change you. He will make you feel special every time you listen to his music.
