Default Negroid re-emergence in new generation Ethiopian children??
I simply grabbed these random pictures from google and I began wondering whether Ethiopia's young generations are now experiencing a maximum of negroid trait influences through whatever obscure modem of aquisition of the features, whether it be a modern trend or an ancinet line of partial absorption so, if this is the pure ethiopid type http://farm1.static.flickr.com/46/13...696ddfa495.jpg as an example what could be said about these following images?

Does this exemplify an old racial absorption into the Ethiopian corpus that has now/currently beginning to manifest itself more thoroughly. This is about SSA admx, or is this within the normal ethionegroid range?

Pure negroid type from the Ethiopian area found these in a website but hard to believe that the partial groe admix comes from something akin to this

From the same site

and then more negroid from the ethiopian area, I noticed something about "gumuz"

No input? It would have been completely fascinating if a formal study could have been done to reveal SSA genetics in Ethiopians, there must be(?) Take a look at what is going on here http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3267/...8cc8d22cec.jpg a formal examination would have been perfect. What could be said about genetics?

They look very Negroid to me on average. It's mostly the hype on Anthroforums that they aren't negroid. They're mostly Negroid but some sections have significant Caucasian admixture as well. I've seen ones that look very caucasoid, like Haile Selassie.

Lol, what is this thread all about? Are you implying the new generation of Ethiopians are getting blacker?

Ethiopia is a very big country which is multi ethnic and not just one ethnicity. Tropical african features which are more typical of west and central africans are obviously found in the area what is now called ethiopia. However mostly its in the south and south central parts of the country. This is due to nilo saharan probably from sudan) admixture.

The "caucasoid" looking (for lack of a better word) ethiopians are mostly in the north of the country.

It actually depends on the ethnicity...
I've seen some of the photos , many kids you call "Negroid" are actually Aethiopid (skin color doesnt mean anything , or we can conclude that Dravidians are also Negroid in that way ).

Horners are a mixture between Neolithic Middle Easterners and 'Tropical African' Nilotids, because those Nilotids were black as hell we are also very dark.

Get with the program Lol_Race

Lol even so, the notion that a particular set of features (non-Aethiopid, basically) apparently never existed in Ethiopia and spread there from Sudan was something I had never heard of before. By the way, I remember you were guilty of something similar before as well.

Well the Gumuz also known as Shanquella are Nilitoc people probably from Sudan that have spilled over. They have some REALLY good interesting music by the way for people that are interesting in Traditional music. The first time I heard the Vuvuzelas . many people that also look like them with VERY Dark skin are usually originally from Sudan. Not that you cant find pitch black people in Ethiopia but you should clearly be able to differentiate "Nilotic" people. Gumuz speak Nilo Saharan. As far as the "Omo", cant really see who they are but they may be from Sudan too, cant tell.

Other than that Just about ALL those pictures are "regular" Ethiopians. When in Ethiopia this is what you see. Anthropology message boards just have you tricked because they have been "orgasming" over the same circulated photos of Haile Selassie look-a-likes. Those photos are the representations of the Brown Skin "Caucasoids"

You picture list , best described as "Just some MORE Negroes that happen to live in Ethiopia" shows the people that carry high frequency of underived Pn2*, E-M35* M1a E2, And all those other Rare genetic markers unique to Ethiopia but supposedly come from somewhere else...........

You know what will really mess with your head. Ask an Ethiopian to go through the pictures and tell you who is Amhara, the group that is supposed to be the "Most mixed Ethiopians"

well he was asking a question so I was answering it lol. Nilo saharan influence would be the only group that had a large impact from non afroasiatic speaking populations within Ethiopia especially south and southwestern areas bordering sudan.

You are chosing children.
Which is probably partially why.
Everyone's features are probably closer to negroid when we are younger.
As our noses are generally smaller & are skulls have not gained a higher vault yet.

This is a stupid thread. Half those pictured were Amharas, some were Nilotids, some were Omotic or Southwestern Cushitic groups with Omotic genetics. I don't see anything atypical about the Amharas and Oromos (some of them looked Oromo, but I could be wrong) children that you posted.

The genetics of population doesn't work that way. If a population changes is either by immigration, selective migration or both. If a large population is isolated will remain the same for centuries or milenia.

More foolishness on the anthroforum. My gosh, Ethiopia is a such a diverse place with varying phenotypes, which is not uncommon for other parts of the continent. Simply, we don't get the see this diversity in the media. This typical 'Negroid' look that is supposedly reserved for certain regions of Africa is a myth.

*I am not one to get wrapped up in all of these classifications as if they are region specific.

Re-emergence implies that somehow these physical traits were hidden. These traits are not hidden, the people in these regions aren't hiding from themselves. Many folks just have not done adequate research or choose to be ignorant to the fact. As I said, we don't get full access to the wide spectrum of African diversity via media outlets. Therefore, we're conditioned to believe what we believe.

There are so many ethnic groups in Ethiopia. Some of them are out and out Negroids. Depending on who you choose, you can have a "fruit salad" of Ethiopian phenotypes. But it proves nothing but Ethiopia has a lot of ethnic groups.

Yeah, The Omo Valley people in South Western Ethiopia are highly negroid.

They even sometimes look almost Asiatic / Capoid.

There is no such thing as genetic Negroid, or if you want to look at it another way, there are at least 14 different ways to be genetically SSA.

Well, kids usually don't develop their features completely until they grow older, so they could end up looking more aethiopid as they grow older

Agreed. People have such a limited view of what Africans are suppose to look like. Each region or each country must have one look. There is this believe that Horn of Africans are supposed to have a pseudo caucasoid/Indian look so whenever a they see an Ethiopian that look more "negroid" as they say then the said person must have a non-hoa mixture. The sad fact is that some, not all, just some hoa tend to reinforce this idea. For example, someone in the beginning of the thread claimed that the set of picture must be a south-central ethnic groups of Ethiopia that has a nilo-saharan admixture. I found that kinda ironic because some of the people in the set of pictures reminded me of Afars and Amhara's i've met. I've never met an Oromo before but i've seen videos of them though and some of set did remind me of Oromo's as well. I found that interesting.
