Eagles Safety Jackson carted off the field..

Jackson carted off with leg injury

PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles starting free safety Marlin Jackson appeared to suffer a serious injury to his right leg at practice Tuesday.

NFC East blog

Jackson, who has a history of knee injuries, had to be taken off the field in a cart. The Eagles are officially calling Jackson's injury a right ankle injury.

Jackson, who left the Indianapolis Colts to sign with the Eagles in March, suffered season-ending knee injuries the past two seasons and had surgery on both knees.
He missed the second half of 2008 with a torn ACL in his right knee and tore the ACL in his left knee in 2009.

Free Safety per the article, of course the depth chart on ESPN says he's the backup behind Macho. Yahoo says he's backing up Nate Allen.

So Strong Safety, yes.

I guess not. Must have blocked that one out.

What injury concerns?

We never have injury concerns. Particularly when the backups are lightly regarded undrafted free agents or practice squadders.

I think I have seen this Movie before. http://www.sports-boards.net/forums/...lies/frown.png

Well, if it's really an ankle injury, then it's not as bad as it could be. Aside from that, Nate Allen was going to start anyway.

CSN Alert: ruptured Achilles tendon.

Well. That was fun while it lasted.

at least this stupid signing didn't bite them in the ass during actual games.

i now expect them to sign another injury riddled player to replace him.

How does that make any sense whatsoever? "I'm glad he had a season-ending injury before he could play for us in the regular season." Even if you didn't think he was a starter at safety, he's at the very least good depth at the position (which we all admit is an issue). Now we have to scour the list of remaining free agent safeties (that we passed over before in favor of Jackson) to replace him.

how is he good depth at safety? he's a corner. he hasn't played the last two years because he blew out each knee.

no, there were a couple good options available. but they didn't come at bargain basement prices, so they weren't considered.
