Texas econonomy is next to crumble from hurricane.
Right now in Texas we are receiving thousands upon thousands of Louisiana's evacuees. The first flood of refugees was in Houston and once Houston was full, San Antonio started getting them. I live in San Antonio and their impact is ALREADY causing problems.
They have been sent to various shelters here in SA. Within minutes after arriving, they were breaking into the vehicles of the volunteers WHO WERE THERE TO HELP THEM!! So far there have been hundreds of break ins, not just in cars, but in homes near the shelters.
Not only has their crime already become a massive problem, but it is expected that their presence will cause a collapse in our welfare system and possibly our economy in general.
Now, not only do we have hords of illegal Mexicans coming in daily, but we also have to deal with the lowest forms of life Louisiana had to offer.
I know this stuff has been overly discussed lately, but shit, sometimes people need to vent.....and now it's my turn.
I tried to be as nice as possible. I'm not trying to offend anyone here, just stating MY opinion. And my opinion is that these may possibly be America's most ignorant and ungrateful people.

I hear you BBJ and you are absolutely right. It seems most of these people are the lowest form of human garbage. I thank God they are not sending them here to MS. We already are in economic dispair and our welfair system is already beyond collapse and has been for years. And we just dont have room for them either as the entire lower half of the state now occupies Jackson.
I will keep you in my prayers, as I absolutely understand how you feel.

Tom, I think you're right. I think something BIG is about to happen. Whether it's the declaration of martial law, a return to the days of "only the strong survive", or a brand new civil war, I think it's only a matter of time before life takes a huge change in America. With everything that's going on, I can't imagine that we can endure too much more. The superpower will soon crumble. It would pretty much take a miracle for us to turn things around now. Xcel predicts that America's economy will crumble within about two years....I think he's right.

I know a lot of people here don't beleive in God, but for those that do, do you think this is the beginning of what God told us would happen? It's pretty much all laid out in the bible. Is this the beginning of the collapse of the last great empire? Or, is it just some rough shit to get through?

I've thought the same thing. The pressure on american economy. Everyone turning on each other. Increase in senseless crime. Increase in disease. Panic among everyone over stupid things like having to wait 2 days before you fill up with gas...etc. If nothing else, what i have seen is the ass end of humanity and how spoiled americans have become.
Its definately, at the very least, a glimpse at what we have to come.
Martial law seems appropriate when you see what some of these people are doing, but just the thought scares me a little because of the potential of abuse of military and government.

Keep in mind that Texas now has to educate all of the school age evacuees. I know my district is letting them in with no documentation. We can't finance our own schools and now we have to educate another state practically. My classes are already 30 and now will be more. How do you think this will impact the standardized tests this year?

ive talked to alot of houston police officers and they all said the crime rate has gone up alot by the astrodome and they are now enforcing a cerfew. u have to realize that these pieces of shit are fucking up for the rest of the katrina victims. most of the katrina victims are very thankful, while these few bad apples are making them look bad.

BBJ, I too live in San Antonio and haven't heard of what you mentioned. I have heard however that the Police have already caught several disaster victims buying crack outside the local convenience stores. I agree with you that it will only get worse and that they will be a burden on our already struggling welfare system.

Yeah, it's kind of strange how the media is ignoring it here. I think maybe they're afraid of starting trouble, so it isn't mentioned on the news. But, if you talk to the cops and firefighters, they'll tell you what's going on.

Texas economy next to crumble
Do you really believe the economy of the great state of Texas is going to crumble over allowing 20-30,000 people a place to stay while they get their lives back in order?
I am sure there is going to be a rise in crime, but don't you think those that do stay are going to find jobs or maybe even might give reason for some new jobs to be created? Also, wouldn't this be an opportunity for people in the construction industry (especially just 7 hours away in Houston) to help rebuild what's been destroyed?
I just don't see this as the end of the world.

Well the thing that a lot of analysts are predicting is that the 20-30,000 that you have mentioned don't go back. They have nothing to go to, and most conservative estimates put it at a year before the area will be truly livable. The scary thing about the whole situation is the New Orleans has a large low income population, and they are living off well fare, food stamps and other types of Government aid. This creates the problem of setting up a new residence or new addresses to receive their funding, which they will want at the first of the month. This also creates an influx into the job market of the area which they have been relocated, because more than some are going to want to start rebuilding their lives sooner than later. Several large companies have already announced that they will not return to New Orleans, this will change the economy there and also the cities they relocate too. I too feel that something big is going to happen in the country, whether it is a race war/civil war easily see this happening with the shifts to far left and the far right in politics. We have many people in this country that take no responsibility for their lives, and look to blame others for what is wrong in their life. This will need to stop if we as a nation are to continue to thrive. The mob mentality that we have seen with Katrina i.e. lootings, shootings, raping and just attacks is not just a New Orleans problem, but a major problem in this country.
Marshal Law should be declared for a couple of reasons, the main being we are disorganized in this country at the moment with this devastating event. This makes s very susceptible to a terrorist now, more than ever, our attention has shifted from the war to New Orleans, and the internal problems that are going to arise from the political aspect of did, done and didn’t do’s with the hurricane will be massive. We have a huge influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico, which may not seem like a problem to some, but it is crippling our economy with the welfare and public health care provided to this population.
I’ll stop here. Really feel like this debate could go on for days and I am fascinated by Government, history and political science…so I’ll just stop typing.

there is no easy or simple answer to all of this. i'm afraid for what's to come. but really, what are they to do? i don't think anyone would want their family just abandoned on the streets. i feel for everyone and hate the fact that there's a percentage of thugs among many good people.
a tad of information that is rather untold and unheard of. i'm friends with police officers that were deployed over to new orleans. they are ordered by the nopd to shoot and kill on site anyone even walking towards them in an aggressive manner. nopd is tired and fed up with what has happend and they are infact killing off many people that refuse to leave in the downtown area. they just shoot them and throw them in the water. they are also ordered to shoot the injured and sick who cannot leave.
one of our cops was stabbed by these thugs and is now back home recovering.
hows that for marshall law.

I bitch about this shit all the time. I'd make Leapfrog proud of me. I used to roll my eyes at those conspiricy theororists, now I are one. When I heard of rapes and robberies and some douchebag shooting at a Chinook evacuating people, I said roll the fuck out. Take the help, food and military and leave. You shoot at the fuckin guy helping you? Bullshit. You have to be one of the lowest forms of life to lose everything you have and still want to hurt people. I also think the gas shortage is bullshit and the people raising the price are scalping it. Thats a felony just like scalping a superbowl ticket. We have 100 days of reserves to avoid this shit and the damage was very small in comparison to what we have access to. It should not have raised the price of a gallon already in the tank or in a truck on its way but it did. The next step is the trucking cost of everything we buy is going up. Then when we buy, it all costs more and the guv gets a percentage of it all through taxes. They figured out a way(not that they did Katrina)to get more money because a new tax wouldn't fly. What they did was go with the opportunity and make everything more expensive. Think it through, you know they'd do it. Texas econonomy is next to crumble from hurricane.
Right now in Texas we are receiving thousands upon thousands of Louisiana's evacuees. The first flood of refugees was in Houston and once Houston was full, San Antonio started getting them. I live in San Antonio and their impact is ALREADY causing problems.
They have been sent to various shelters here in SA. Within minutes after arriving, they were breaking into the vehicles of the volunteers WHO WERE THERE TO HELP THEM!! So far there have been hundreds of break ins, not just in cars, but in homes near the shelters.
Not only has their crime already become a massive problem, but it is expected that their presence will cause a collapse in our welfare system and possibly our economy in general.
Now, not only do we have hords of illegal Mexicans coming in daily, but we also have to deal with the lowest forms of life Louisiana had to offer.
I know this stuff has been overly discussed lately, but shit, sometimes people need to vent.....and now it's my turn.
I tried to be as nice as possible. I'm not trying to offend anyone here, just stating MY opinion. And my opinion is that these may possibly be America's most ignorant and ungrateful people.

I hear you BBJ and you are absolutely right. It seems most of these people are the lowest form of human garbage. I thank God they are not sending them here to MS. We already are in economic dispair and our welfair system is already beyond collapse and has been for years. And we just dont have room for them either as the entire lower half of the state now occupies Jackson.

Tom, I think you're right. I think something BIG is about to happen. Whether it's the declaration of martial law, a return to the days of "only the strong survive", or a brand new civil war, I think it's only a matter of time before life takes a huge change in America. With everything that's going on, I can't imagine that we can endure too much more. The superpower will soon crumble. It would pretty much take a miracle for us to turn things around now. Xcel predicts that America's economy will crumble within about two years....I think he's right.

I've thought the same thing. The pressure on american economy. Everyone turning on each other. Increase in senseless crime. Increase in disease. Panic among everyone over stupid things like having to wait 2 days before you fill up with gas...etc. If nothing else, what i have seen is the ass end of humanity and how spoiled americans have become.

Keep in mind that Texas now has to educate all of the school age evacuees. I know my district is letting them in with no documentation. We can't finance our own schools and now we have to educate another state practically. My classes are already 30 and now will be more. How do you think this will impact the standardized tests this year?

ive talked to alot of houston police officers and they all said the crime rate has gone up alot by the astrodome and they are now enforcing a cerfew. u have to realize that these pieces of shit are fucking up for the rest of the katrina victims. most of the katrina victims are very thankful, while these few bad apples are making them look bad.

BBJ, I too live in San Antonio and haven't heard of what you mentioned. I have heard however that the Police have already caught several disaster victims buying crack outside the local convenience stores. I agree with you that it will only get worse and that they will be a burden on our already struggling welfare system.

Yeah, it's kind of strange how the media is ignoring it here. I think maybe they're afraid of starting trouble, so it isn't mentioned on the news. But, if you talk to the cops and firefighters, they'll tell you what's going on.

Texas economy next to crumble
Do you really believe the economy of the great state of Texas is going to crumble over allowing 20-30,000 people a place to stay while they get their lives back in order?
I am sure there is going to be a rise in crime, but don't you think those that do stay are going to find jobs or maybe even might give reason for some new jobs to be created? Also, wouldn't this be an opportunity for people in the construction industry (especially just 7 hours away in Houston) to help rebuild what's been destroyed?
I just don't see this as the end of the world.

Well the thing that a lot of analysts are predicting is that the 20-30,000 that you have mentioned don't go back. They have nothing to go to, and most conservative estimates put it at a year before the area will be truly livable. The scary thing about the whole situation is the New Orleans has a large low income population, and they are living off well fare, food stamps and other types of Government aid. This creates the problem of setting up a new residence or new addresses to receive their funding, which they will want at the first of the month. This also creates an influx into the job market of the area which they have been relocated, because more than some are going to want to start rebuilding their lives sooner than later. Several large companies have already announced that they will not return to New Orleans, this will change the economy there and also the cities they relocate too. I too feel that something big is going to happen in the country, whether it is a race war/civil war easily see this happening with the shifts to far left and the far right in politics. We have many people in this country that take no responsibility for their lives, and look to blame others for what is wrong in their life. This will need to stop if we as a nation are to continue to thrive. The mob mentality that we have seen with Katrina i.e. lootings, shootings, raping and just attacks is not just a New Orleans problem, but a major problem in this country.
Marshal Law should be declared for a couple of reasons, the main being we are disorganized in this country at the moment with this devastating event. This makes s very susceptible to a terrorist now, more than ever, our attention has shifted from the war to New Orleans, and the internal problems that are going to arise from the political aspect of did, done and didn’t do’s with the hurricane will be massive. We have a huge influx of illegal immigrants from Mexico, which may not seem like a problem to some, but it is crippling our economy with the welfare and public health care provided to this population.
I’ll stop here. Really feel like this debate could go on for days and I am fascinated by Government, history and political science…so I’ll just stop typing.

there is no easy or simple answer to all of this. i'm afraid for what's to come. but really, what are they to do? i don't think anyone would want their family just abandoned on the streets. i feel for everyone and hate the fact that there's a percentage of thugs among many good people.
a tad of information that is rather untold and unheard of. i'm friends with police officers that were deployed over to new orleans. they are ordered by the nopd to shoot and kill on site anyone even walking towards them in an aggressive manner. nopd is tired and fed up with what has happend and they are infact killing off many people that refuse to leave in the downtown area. they just shoot them and throw them in the water. they are also ordered to shoot the injured and sick who cannot leave.
one of our cops was stabbed by these thugs and is now back home recovering.
hows that for marshall law.

I bitch about this shit all the time. I'd make Leapfrog proud of me. I used to roll my eyes at those conspiricy theororists, now I are one. When I heard of rapes and robberies and some douchebag shooting at a Chinook evacuating people, I said roll the fuck out. Take the help, food and military and leave. You shoot at the fuckin guy helping you? Bullshit. You have to be one of the lowest forms of life to lose everything you have and still want to hurt people. They don't have food but they want to rape someone? Kill the fuckers. These scumbags are just like a computer virus and need to be removed. I'm all about GW being the biggest fuck out. I said it before and someone said he wasn't, just watch. I've watched and I'm more right than before. He has risen to his level of imcompetence. I also think the gas shortage is bullshit and the people raising the price are scalping it. Thats a felony just like scalping a superbowl ticket. We have 100 days of reserves to avoid this shit and the damage was very small in comparison to what we have access to. It should not have raised the price of a gallon already in the tank or in a truck on its way but it did. The next step is the trucking cost of everything we buy is going up. Then when we buy, it all costs more and the guv gets a percentage of it all through taxes. They figured out a way(not that they did Katrina)to get more money because a new tax wouldn't fly. What they did was go with the opportunity and make everything more expensive. Think it through, you know they'd do it.
