Just keep the packages as small as possible, and have them sent to as many different locations as possible.
Everytime someone uses the same address to receive an overseas package, US customs records that into their database. After enough frequent overseas packages to the same address, they will probably "red flag" that address....
And using a different name each time won't help....they only go by the address. The system they use is called "TECS II".
And try not to have the packages addressed to any person with an "ethnic" sounding name...even an Italian or Greek name could set off Customs.
And whatever you do, AVOID the Chicago customs facility at all costs. Those bastards are notorious for being the most hardcore customs agents around. By far, more seizures have occured from Chicago customs than anywhere else.
If you live in or near Chicago, have your gear sent to a trusted bro out of that area, then have them ship the gear to you.
Or, you can have your overseas source mail them to a US-based remailer far from that area, then have the remailer forward the mail to whatever address you want.

I heard through the grapevine that US Customs is planning on upgrading TECS II very shortly....they want the computerized database that tracks addresses and even names to become more "intelligent", like being able to discover if somebody on their red-flag database with a name like "Thompson" might play games with the spelling (example: Thomson) to throw off the TECS II database---even if the person has a completely different address than the one already red-flagged in the TECS II database!
But as I've said before, never use the same name twice (even if it's a new receiving address) unless absolutely necessary, don't use ethnic/foreign sounding names (especially Arabic) and buy yourself a police scanner (like Uniden) so you can ride around the area of the package pickup a few times to see if any "hot" LE chatter starts coming about as you draw closer and closer to the location where you'll pick up your package.

Bro,
You can just google the words "police scanner" or just "scanner", and many companies will come up.
Uniden scanners are the ones most commonly used by the average police officer, as well as many others in the FBI, etc.
If you google the above words I listed, or specifically, "Uniden scanner", some companies will come up.
