Can someone walk me through the best/secure way to open and fund an egold account.

Setting up an E-gold account is easy. The hard part is funding it, lol. Your best bet is to pay someone who has E-gold to send it to your account as if you bought something from them. You could pay that person with cash, Paypal or something else. I do know that there are some exchange companies that will accept your credit card payment to buy E-gold, then transfer the funds to your account. It's a pain in the ass, but worth it.

NO. E-Gold does not verify your info. Just make sure the email you gave them is real in case you need to contact them or they have to contact you.

If you want to buy E-Gold with www.goldarea.net, do what I did:

Set up an account with your real info with goldarea.net, especially if you will be buying E-Gold with your credit card. The info on your goldarea.net account must match the info on your credit card. Then goldarea.net will send the E-gold to your designated E-gold account (which must also have the same name on the account as the one on your goldarea.net account).

BUT....if you don't want people to know your real info contained on your E-Gold account, just set up an additional E-Gold account. Then "sell" the E-Gold from the E-Gold account that has your real info to another E-Gold account that has bogus info that can't be traced back to you. Then use that E-Gold account with bogus info for your transactions.

That way, when you send money to someone, you don't have to worry about the money in that particular transaction being traced back to you---even though you originally purchased E-Gold by way of a credit card.

Another idea is to find a bro you know who has E-Gold, and ask if you can send him a blank money order (NOT A POSTAL MONEY ORDER!) for the amount of E-Gold you want to purchase. Then after he receives the money order, he can send you the E-Gold to an account you established.
