A lot of us on here are fitness minded individuals, but I worry about the rest of Americans who are getting fatter and fatter. Watching my Dad battle obesity and diabetes is really a tough thing, and its a growing trend in America. Kids are having the toughest time with this. Anyone have any thoughts on how to solve this? Is it a lack of exercise at schools? Too much video games at home? Super Sized meals everywher you go? Businesses are making a lot of money off of this with their menus and foods. Do you think Americans care that we're so fat?

There's nothing we can do... as I write in my essays about politics and history, this is the by-product of Western Capitalism that we are spreading all over the world come hook or by crook... or for that matter... brute military force. The unfortunate by-product of 'Successful Capitalism' is obesity, lowered birth rate, and loss of spirituality, uncontrolled immigration, the destruction of Nationalism and patriotism, multilingual (a loss of a National Language), among other things... in essence committing genocide on one's own people by not bearing children... we are experiencing 'The Death of the West'. Welcome to the New Roman Empire, so sad we won't exist as long. This all follows my college essay titled 'The Decline and Fall of the American Empire'.

lol in my day when it was not so politcally correct... I think we called that 'smear the queer'.

I have several friends that are PE teachers they can not play "sports" 3 days in a row. That is rediculous what happened to football, kickball. dodge ball, smear the queer, basketball.
Now it is cup stacking, dance, and other crap.

Plus they drink all these "fruit" drinks that are loaded in sugar. A coke has less sugar than a V8 Splash, I believe it is half as much. The parents just see real fruit.

That's one of the problems. We have gone "low fat" but added sugar to compensate for the taste. Bring back dodgeball! Man I loved dodgeball! Does anyone know if sports in this country have generally become more popular or less?

As I reread this I remember that Obesity has surpassed cancer in cause of death in America... can you believe it? Obesity is the number one killer in America! That's how fat we are!!!!!!!!!!! it's going to get worse now because of the pc environment where there are even beauty pagents for fat women and are try to impress on the rest of us that fat is ok.

That's bullshit! it's not ok! being that fat tells everything about the person inside for the world to see. As I write this they are saying on the tv behind me that the medical world has conquered obesity. They are saying there is absolutely no medical reason left for people to be obese. What's that leave? the Rocket Scientists are saying "we can cure it now, it's the person that refuses to cure themself". I absolutely believe it.

I was in McDonald's the other day (I love fat food but guess what? my body can afford it and I'd be a fucking moron if I didn't balance that the rest of the week with good food... I'd be a moron if I didn't take Flaxseed Oil sups with McD's), anyway, most of the people I saw in there that were eating or working there were huge! and I would bet anybody they tell their friends "I hardly eat a thing all day and still can't lose weight, it's a medical problem" pssssssssst no it's not, you're a filthy that will never have sex with something as awesome as I. oooooo did I sound stuck on myself? did I sound narcistic? well if they took care of their body, they would feel good about themself too.

WOW !!! there many things we can do. First thing we can do is leave the attitude that there is nothing we can do in the trash. Second thing is education on why high fat and high sugar are the main problem. Education on the effects of lack of exercise. eliminate all foods you consume that contain refined sugar, flour or high in fats and sodium. Eliminate these foods stuffs from your grocery shelves and ..well not much is left to chose from. Obesity is the result of a type of life style. Being lean and healthy is a result of a type of life style...its just that simple.

Me saying "there's nothing we can do" does not imply that there's nothing the fat person can do... it implies that I cannot make a person stop eating shit! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all freaking know what eating shit does to us. Weeeeeeeee all know there are Dr's that specialize in this and can correct it with meds and or surgery if it's more serious. Like I said in my previous post if you read it... it's been cured..the war on obesity was fought and the world won this one.... but the skirmishes continue because you can't force people to behave or take care of themself. They know it's the number one killer and they still get fatter. Just like people knew cigs would kill them... it didn't stop them from smoking... it didn't stop my mother..

Like many problems in America these days it boils down to personal responsibilty...no one has it anymore. People blame schools for not having PE or selling soft drinks to there kids, adults blame food companies for selling unhealthy food (ie McDonalds) when it simply boils down to there poor decisions.

Unless you what to legislate healthy eating and exercise not allot we can do.

I'll say again... there's nothing weeeeeee can do. We cannot be made responsible for another's poor decisions.

If a person wants to sit at home, be a counch potato, smoke, drink excessive, get fat, get medical problems...psssssst nothing WE can do about it. I think most here got it. I couldn't stop my mom from smoking and it killed her. oh well.

All anyone has to do is to cut down their calories. It's as simple as that...Maybe a 15 min jog for starters and ur already on ur way to seeing an improvement.

If you're getting in about 3000+ calories and you are physcially inactive then the fat ass train is just around the corner... lol sorry but its true, reduce the calories to about 2200 and start running and your good to go.

For only 19.95 I'll rush you my new weight-loss tape. Guaranteed to help you start losing weight from the day you receive it and it works on every body type, sex, and age.

Simply open the box, pull the tape out...wrap a piece completly around your head so it covers your mouth, and presto! Instant weight loss.

Or if that doesn't fit into you budget, you can go to Wal-Mart and buy a big-ass roll of duct-tape. (That's where the tape I have came from!)

In other words we ALL know why Americans are so fuckin' fat. It's just that no one will do anything about it.

Most Americans can help themselves or collect from the government to help them.
These people have nothing to begin with. No chance at education. No chance at finding a job. Most of their families died in wars.
If America doesnt help who will? Im all for it. We help the poor Americans enough IMO. Maybe we should send some of our poor over there to see how bad BAD is.
Those kids are litterally starving Sorry, but I have never seen pictures of starving American kids im sure there are a few. We are talking 100,000s of kids parentless kids at that. Im sorry, but even I have a heart when it comes to stuff like this. Im able to put it in perspective.
