You get PGP for free from www.pgpi.org

Osama used PGP to plan 9/11, so all versions from 7 onwards have a backdoor for the goverments. If you are not pissing off any governments, then you shouldn't worry about using current versions.
If you are worried, then get version 6.8.5 (I believe the last one without a back door).

Very easy to hide your IP and be anonimous - do a search for anonimisers in Google and you will find tons of them. Although I haven't found a free one for a long time.

If you can think of anything else that would help keep me anonimous please lmk. Did you mean PGP 6.5.8? because thats all I see on there. It's also under Windows 9x/NT/2000 and I have windows XP. Does that make any different?

Yes, I meant 658. I run it on XP without any problems.

PGP's wipe tool is the bomb!

There's a ton of stuff you can do, depends on how paranoid you are.

But generally, if you encrypt all your files and emails with pgp, use one of the anonimisers , like www.anonimiser.com, for surfing and you wipe everything with the pgp wipe tool, it will be VERY hard for anyone to get anything on you via your computer activities.

Of course, use pgp smartly - don't be online while you are writing a sensitive document/email, until you encrypt it first, etc.

I downloaded the PGP and on the download it had a couple of errors but still went though....when the PGP keys come up..whats that all about? I have people in there that I don't even know. Does it work by itself big A or do I have to do something after it's downloaded?

The people's keys you see are pgp employees. You can erase them all.

FIrstly, you have to generate your two keys - public and private.

If you want to email me encrypted, you have to send me your public key and I'll send you mine.

When you send me an email, you encrypt the message to my public key by highlighting the text you want encrypted, then clicking on the PGP icon in your tool bar, and choosing encrypt and you drag my key from your list into the box, and the text automatically gets encrypted.

I do the same when I send you an email. For you to read it, you highlight the entire text, including the little ---- at the start and end, and you click on yoru icon in the tool bar, click decrypt and then type in your passphrase.

Anointeds going to be putting up a bullet proof VPN service for about $6 a month. He's about a week out. It will blow anonymizer away and it will be more flexible then anonimize.net which is about thirty dollars a month and has fewer severs making it rteally slow at times. But definately the way to go.

got an arizona novelty id from wisconsin and was not scammed. it has never failed. has holos but arent the right ones for the state. however most clerks have no clue what its supposed to look like. pm me for the website..
