Default Get the shivers!!
Since a couple of days this little spider (aprox. 2 cm body) hangs in his web in the garden. Couldn't resist to take a few shots, untill there was a fly who got strangled in the web. In a couple of seconds the fly was ready to be eaten. The juice almost dripped on the floor...

No doubt about that, but I'm pretty sure you didn't find this spider in the wild in Nederland. This is the biggest "kruisspin" (European garden spider?) I've seen so far. Please give me my five minutes of fame.

BTW, ISO was still on 3200 :-s from my hollidays in France (some shots in a natural cave).

For a european spider, thats a decent size, and they are nice shots [thumbup]

I just saw an excuse to post my big-ass spider photo again [rofl]

Thanks for giving me nightmares (probably) for tonight - I could save the world with my own brilliance, but if there's a spider in front of me, I think I would let the world perish instead!

Thats a Golden Orb Spider, from Costa Rica. I almost walked into the bloody thing in the jungle [surrender][rofl]

One of the lodges we stayed in had about a hundreded of them in their webs in one tree. You had to walk under this tree every time you wanted to get to the canteen area....
