my fellow photographer onions - HDR!
 

how do you guys go about in doing it? im really new to the whole HDR photography scene and ive been trying to experiment with this technique. Ive tried it many times but so far ive only done it successfully once.

There should be a feature called bracketing on your DSLR which will take 2 under exposed, 2 over, and 1 standard image with relative ease mounted on a tripod. However, if your camera dosent have this feature (like the Nikon D40X, the camera I use), switch the mode to M, or manual, and set up the scene you wish to photograph. A spinwheel somewhere on the camera will adjust the appature, leaving you room to play around with different types of exposure.

Once the pictures are taken and you are satisfied, the way I compile them to comeplete a HDR photo is in photoshop, under the automate bar located in the 'File' tab. The special type of photo that photoshop creates can be adjusted on the fly for optimal HDR photography using a bar along the bottom of the window, ontop of the adjustment layers and the such.

doesn't have to be 2, but yeah, there should be an exposure bracketing mode, in which it exposes at 0(normal Exp.) , -x and +x. you set the x parameter.
