my first real macro with my new DCR-250 macro lens

I've got to say that this little thing is real nice, especially when you have several lenses to use it with, as lenses differ by focal lengths, minimal focusing distances and aperture opening so it even gains the ability to be used at different ranges for different subjects.

I just picked it up from the post office and haven't had a real chance to test it outside, as it's also darkening already, so I took a photo of my cactus at my window.

I've made 2 versions, one with correct WB and one Tungsten, which does real nicely as a wallpaper for me...
If anyone wants a 1600*1200 wallpaper I could upload it for ya.

correct WB:

Tungsten:

I hope I'll have some time to test it on some bugs and insects outside in the next few days...

looks great, i recently bought a 70-300 sigma with macro function, funnily enough it wasn't something i was looking for (as i didn't know what it did) but you can really create some awesome shots with it, not nearly as close as yours can do but great regardless.

Heh, the photo you're looking at was taken with my Tamron 70-300mm Macro, with the DCR-250 macro lens on it :)

oh right, so it works like an extension to the existing lens (i guess it goes on the 58mm thread on the end?)

in my case, Tamron 70-300 has a 62mm filter thread, but this Raynox thing has a universal snap-on adapter which fits anything between 52-67mm.
the macro lens itself mounts to the adapter with a 43mm thread.

sounds great (it's a pity they didn't standardise all the lens mounts and other fittings)

make sure you update this once you get a few more pics in, it'll be interesting to see what i can do

I don't think it's possible to make it fit all thread sizes, however, the product as it is, fits the majority of lenses. In fact it fits all my 3 lenses like a charm!http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/cool1.gif
