I just snapped this and uploaded it without doing any Photoshop work on it. I originally took this picture just as a functional example of using a wide aperture on a new lens I got (50mm f1.4). However, I seem to really enjoy this picture, can anyone offer a thought on whether this is interesting to look at and worth further work on?

I would enjoy it more with a little bit a curves adjustment just so we can see some more contrast and variance in the gray tones. I think that in a series about the U of M it would be more powerful, or at least with some more readily identifiable context for outsiders. I do see where it fits as a part of the campus and how it is so desolate even in the middle of the city. I think a b/w conversion would really make this shine, but since there is so little contrast (blame the wretched weather, not the camera) a little sepia tone might be in order.
I'd say you should see where it will take you. [thumbup] |
