What do you think? They are both cropped from the originals...

EDIT: btw , I use Canon PS520 which is only 4 Megapixel cam, so I can't get much better macros :(

pumpineemob 06-01-2007 07:14 PM

I have a sony cybershot also 4MP but it can make a lot better macros then that http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif
so i don't think you can blame the amount of pixels used ?

now i am just waiting for someone to correct me http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

Could you post some of your macros, then, so I could see how big the difference is?
I'm curious...

And my pics and what stuff to clean the lens, again ? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif
for now i just used some paper...

O my advice is, a tripod helps a lot [thumbup]

EDIT lens cleaning part is solved, thanks to Chris our beloved moderator http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/cool1.gif

I'm so new to photographing, I haven't cleansed my cam's lens ever. But it was nice to know the answer from your thread! :)

Your shots look really good, and the macro seems a bit better and clearer. I'll see if I have better macro shots on my comp, if not, I have to admit that my cam is probably inferior to yours...

masterso 06-06-2007 03:19 AM

nice pics indeed mate!
Reminds me the ladybug pic I have taken toohttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/cool1.gif :

yeah, a tripod would probably help...I just cannot afford that kind of luxury.

Whoa, those look mighty nice! I'm way out of my league compared to your shots, there...

Nice job, mate! :)

Thanks http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif, but hey I'm really a newbie too http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif and those shots are taken with a macro lens (Raynox DCR 250) + post-processed in PS. Also I have taken maybe 300 shots with only a few acceptable in the end. 5%, I'm shaking too much and the depth of field is so short with the DCR 250 (2-3mm) that it's really difficult to focus on the subject (manual, forget autofocus).

who was that person who used a lens on backwards to acheive some level of super macro?

it was so close you can see insects eyes super clear?

great shots either way though, one of the things that limit macro ability is minimum focus distance, my Canon S1 is around 10cm but the S2 is less than 1cm...

I don't know but you can find some of them on flickr.com:

Somehow I can't insert the pictures, there is some kind of protection I guess. Anyway the first picture is amazing. I wonder what kind of macro lens the guy is using, probably an expensive one.

I own a fujifilm S6500fd and the super macro mode can focus as close as 1cm but it will never give a result like in the two above pictures from flickr or even like my pictures. To get that close you really need to add a macro lens.

Hmm.. I know I started this thread with macro shots but since I never said you couldn't post shots of other kinds, I'm just going to use this same old thread for these panoramic photos:

Absolutely Gorgeous shots, cortez.

My particular favourite is the one with the Yellow (Maple?) Leaves, very nice indeed! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/cool1.gif

Yes, that's my favorite also. The colours are spectacular! And yes, it is a maple.

Ok, requesting a) comments and b) help.

First the pic that wants your comments:

http://lh5.google.com/akimatti.itkon...0/IMG_4671.JPG

Then the help request:
http://lh6.google.com/akimatti.itkon...0/IMG_5348.JPG

Is it possible for someone to remove the people from that photo? I'd like this as a wallpaper but the people distract me a little...
Thanks!
