Recommend me a camera
 

Okay I have £300 availible and currently i'm handicaped by an old Fuji Finepix S5500 4mp, so i'm hoping to go upmarket a little bit :)

Traditionally I have always stuck with Canon, but I was given the fuji after my camera was stolen 2 years ago.

Compact or SLR?
Could may be push a little more money and get an EOS 350D. Would be well worth it if your not after a compact. You can find internet deals on the 350D body with lense kit for around the 350 quid mark.

You could also check out ebay for a Rebel XT (the US 350D) few min of searching and I found one with lens and 2gb card for 300 quid and shipping from UK.

The fuji s5500 is too old. For that sort of money I'm sure you can buy the fuji s6500fd. Great camera!
