Default Question? New Camera
Ok i thought i would ask you guys before spending a packet of cash on a new camera. I need to have a camera that has a damn good macro ability. I have been looking at these two;

Fuji Finepix S5600

SONY DSC-H2

Any input would be great or any other camera that you can think of would be good too.

Cheers

They're both good superzooms. I would lean towards the Fuji. I have owned 3 of their cameras and prefer the warm tones they produce. Check out both is a store to make your mind up.

One thing - ProDuo memory is coming down in price a lot now thanks to the PSP, which used to be a reason to avoid high pixel count Sony cameras.

I think the Sony has a better macro mode unless the S5600 has the super macro mode of the S9000.

The Sony has a minimum focal distance of 2cm in macro the Fuji is 10cm unless it has the super macro mode which shortens to 1cm.

Both are really good cameras. I've always been a fan of Fuji's superzoom cameras when I used to sell them.

The H5 from Sony is a bit better camera for not that much more money. Boy have the prices on Memory Stick Duo dropped. 1 GB pro duo cards can be had for close to $30 now.

How about waiting for the fuji s5600fd. I don't think the "face detection" thingie is out of this world, but is always good having up to iso3200. fuji f30 has has some good reviews, and the pics look very good at iso1600 (very good as considering it's a p&s camera).
