That is one feature RICH DSLR.
Things I like: 1) 11-area AF system 2) High-magnification, large viewfinder (.94x as opposed to .75x of D70, and .80x of 350D) 3) Higher res. means more crop room, larger prints 4) Button layout looks improved Nice price on some really good features. Being a 350D owner, I cannot wait to see what Canon releases to counter the D80. I doubt Canon will release a 10MP Rebel with an 8.2MP 30D being just released.... who knows? Anything is possible, especially with tough competition! |

I am getting a D200 though...
The only reason why: It is bigger, heavier, and easier for me to use because of those reaons. I have large hands that can shake with small items. Another important reason: We are human... Humans have things... Humans drop things... Magnesium Alloy and full metal body casing with weatherproofed controls and insides makes the D200 the best choice for photographers who get "passionate" with what they are doing... ![]() There are also a couple of slight techncial aspects I have looked at, and they are slightly different. The D200 has a couple of things that make it better on the whitesheet, but they are so minute, it isn't worth $600 extra to the average consumer. Get the D200 if you have excess money in your checking account... Get the D80 if you want the best damn camera you can scrap money together for! Edit: http://www.dpreview.com/articles/nikond80/ http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond200/ They have a good comparison page on there that can help you figure just some of the differences. There are many differences not listed there, but the biggest is the RAW continous shooting comparison. I do a lot of burst shots, and I demand more than the D80's buffer can handle. The D200, by default, would be my prime choice for a camera. |
