Default High mountain meadows
Took a 20 minute up to an area around a lake named "Picayune Lake". I didn't actually go to the lake today, as I just wanted to get some pictures of the beautiful meadows below the lake (and some above). This is the most serene place, I really love it. I'm really a sucker for high mountain meadows, this one is at about 6500 ft. I've linked a page with all the images so it is pretty hefty, 56Kers beware.

Fantastic photos. I really liked all of them! [thumbup][thumbup][thumbup]

A few of them could have used some more contrast to give some more "pop" in all the colors, but great pictures I think

Thanks! Yeah, sometimes it's hard for me to judge if I'm adding too much contrast or not, so I keep it safe.

Thanks a lot! Landscape shots really are my passion and I've been working to improve them. I forgot to mention that all these pictures were taken with a Pentax *istDL with the 18-55mm kit lens and a tripod. I just ordered a 50mm f1.4, can't wait!

Very nice! That area looks very similar to where I grew up. I love the mountains.

Thanks! Where did you grow up? I love the mountains as well, I just can't live without them. I feel so weird whenever I go back east or to any really flat areas, it just doesn't feel right to me.

I grew up in a very tiny town in Idaho.

I know how you feel...right now I'm living by the Snake River Canyon, and it's horrible. Dry, flat, rocky....GAH.[cursing]

Nice pics, just one thing. When you shoot landscapes, or anything else for that matter, try not to get too much "stuff" in the pictures. There are so much going on in some of your pictures you do not know what to look at.

Why do people insist on putting goofy borders on stuff? To me, it detracts from the photos. But, I know some people like it. Oh well.

The pictures rock, borders, not so much. IMHO.

Because it's nice to have some kind of presentation. Besides, these borders are very similar to a double mat, pretty standard stuff.
