Default Serial's PHOTOGASM 2006!
I went out of town this weekend and snapped a bunch of random photos. I thought I'd share a few of my favorites with you guys!

All of these are JPEGS straight out of the camera...absolutely no post-processing at all (Lately I've been trying to get the photo right the first time without having to mess with a RAW file, etc). Equipment: EOS 20D with a 24-70 f 2.8L lens.

On with the show!:

I had a few more that I wanted to post, but I don't have model releases for the people and I don't want to get in trouble.[no]

Nice pictures. I think it might have been nice if you kept the mountains in focus in the first image like you did in the 7th one since they actually look like a really interesting part of the scene.

rofl...

Anyway, on topic: nice photos, May well just be my teacher's methods that i've inherited but my only criticism I have is that a lot of your B&W photographs I find 'uninteresting' because of the lack of contrast. It's alright to have images like that if you want to preserve as much detail as possible, such as complex landscapes but in that sort of photograph I'd always try to increae it as much as possible without losing significant detail.

for example (hope you don't mind me demonstrating):

All I did was add a gradient map (black to white) and then brought out the shadows a little with the shadow/highlight tool.

ME, in a PRON FILM?!! Holy ****, that must have been one of those drunken evenings I can't quite remember. Sounds hot, though. Can't wait to see myself in action.

I must warn you: I've improved considerably since last time. I've even won several 8-player races on Live.[surrender]

Thanks for the input..I think you're 100% right. I'd been thinking that my B&Ws felt a bit flat, but I hadn't yet put my finger on why. I'm going to try experimenting with higher contrast next time.[thumbup]
