Default New shots (D50 + 50mm f/1.8D)
All I can say is I am really enjoying this lens...I believe I used f/1.8 to f/2.8, have to check exif but pretty sure thats accurate. ISO 1600 so don't mind the noise, although it's quite small.

Visited fiances parents, her sister came over as well and brought her new kitten....had my camera, had to take pictures of him!!

Then a couple pictures of her other sisters kids with the cat

I get the feeling you shot does @ ISO 800.

Try using ISO @ 200 always and use fill flash.

Awesome shots!! It definitely has a prime feel to it. Who cares about range. A wide f-stop selection is range to me. Many people think zooms are pretty close to the level of primes based off sharpness. While that's true, but they often neglect the color and contrast of a lens, and that's where the prime blows away zooms. And your pictures definitely show amazing colors and contrast.
The first and second shots are magnificent. I love how you didn't center the subject, unlike most other pics posts here. The third and forth looks a bit oversharpened. I find that these pics looks best a bit soft. Ever heard of the term "too sharp for portraits"? I think it applies here.

Screw that, fill flash looks like crap.
A bit of noise is far better than crap lighting.

Thanks for the input and comments megalo [thumbup]

The last picture was the only one taken with flash. Yeah I think a couple I put a tad much sharping on, usually I just put a extremely small amount on.

I do think I am getting better every day though, now it doesn't seem to take me 100 pictures to get 1 good shot

I disagree.

But I respect your opinion.
