Default Indian Army developing Tactical Communication System
Indian Army's Signal Officer-in-Chief Lt General S P Kochhar said today that the force is developing a Tactical Communication System (TCS). At keynote speech during curtain- raiser for the November's Defcom-2012 seminar, he said that an information grid is required to be established to generate precise war-fighting effects and orchestrated operations at an unprecedented operational tempo.

A network-centric force needs to exchange information in "near real time and it needs achieve a successful integration of sensors, shooters and decision makers through a dynamic, reliable and secure loop, he said.

Bharat Electronics (BEL) and a consortium of L&T, Tata Power and HCL Infosys Ltd have been selected by the government as per the laid down norms of Defence Procurement Policy, to develop TCS.
