Thai Novels
 

I tried to search the forum for an answer to this question, since I'm sure someone has answered it.

I'm looking for reccomendations for Thai novels or short stories that give a good insight into the country and are likely to be available in English on Amazon, or a Thai site (there are a small number on http://www.buythaibooks.com but I'd like some opinions about them). The only novels I have come across are written by foreigners and I'd like more of a Thai perspective.

Of course, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with novels by foreigners, if there is a novel set in Thailand of the quality of The Quiet American, for example, then I'd certainly like to hear about that!
