Default WAFL tips Round 19
PERTH vs SOUTH FREMANTLE at Lathlain

This now looms as the match of the round. Perth coming off a giant-killing win over West Perth. South Fremantle have been ultra competitive without winning (dropping 4 of thier last 5 games). The Demons have this chance right in front of them on Saturday. This would be a significant win for them and if they think too much about it, it could be their downfall. Souths know what they need to do to win. And that is probably not much different to what they have been doing. Of the last 3 losses they have had against quality opposition, they could easily have won all 3 of those games. They are now under more pressure than they probably deserve. I sense (without seeing the teams) that Perth will be a tough act on Saturday. The game is played 90% in the head and Perth must keep mentally focused. Last week would have given the club a boost and perhaps they can roll with that.

PERTH to win by 18 points (sorry SFFC4ever)

CLAREMONT vs EAST PERTH at Claremont Oval.

The Tigers will see this game as perhaps a chance to close the gap on West Perth. The Royals probably enter this game now having less to lose as all is pretty much lost for 2011. But they can still be nuisance value for the remainder of the year. East Perth played a great game last week to almost snatch an unlikely victory. If the weather is nasty then I give East Perth a chance here. Claremont have been vulnerable in patches and have dropped 3 games at Claremont Oval. Once a fortress for them. Accountability will be the key here and I think EP can stifle Claremont here. Will be hoping for a wet. cold miserable day and goals hard to kick. I will tip an upset and Gary Moss to have a day out. He is getting better when it counts.

EAST PERTH to win by 17 points

PEEL THUNDER vs SUBIACO at Bendigo Bank Mandurah (ABC TV Game)

Danger game for the in form Lions, but they are on a real confidence binge right now. Been a terrific turn around by Subiaco and it has been done on perceverance and hard work. This is a side who has lost key players in recent times and they have slowly built a genuine team of competitors. This game is significant seeing it was Peel's upset win over the Lions in round 10 that saw the Lions hit their lowest ebb. They have won 4 of their last 5 games and have a percentage capable of getting them a finals spot if it comes down to that. Peel also have been terrific, mainly at Rushton Park and they were competitive against the Tigers last week. But I think Subiaco know a loss in this game is not an option. They have too much to play for and know just rocking up on Saturday wont be enough. But Peel could easily suprise.

SUBIACO to win by 35 points

SWAN DISTRICTS vs EAST FREMANTLE at Karratha

Swans have given up a home ground advantage here and the way they have played at Bassendean in 2011, thats perhaps not a bad thing. These sides had a gripping game earlier this year at EF Oval when the Sharks defence held up in the second half to get them the win. East Fremantle are a hard team to gauge. Their form has you thinking perhaps they peaked a bit early with wins over both CL and WP (away) when they were at their peak. The AFL numbers in their side could be classed as a distraction, but if they click between now & September they will be a serious contender. But they need to show more than they are right now. Swans have just dived completely. They are totally out of sync and the premiership is a distant memory. Probably the biggest slide by a team since East Fremantle of 1979/1980. The Sharks have too much incentive, though the change of scenery will definently help Swans. Just not enough on this occasion I think.

EAST FREMANTLE to win by 29 points

If Armstrong and Pitt come into our 22 then SF for me. Those two don't warrant a place in the team.

I won't be surprised if EP get up here but Tigers by 18 points.

A couple of big AFL out's for Peel in Lycett and Faulks who have given them good service. Subi have lost Anthony but that might be a blessing in disguise for them. Subiaco by 24 points.

Again Swans look ok on paper but EF have more to lose so i will go with the Sharks by 2 goals.

Perth by 19 points - we are on a big slide & with the outs & ins for both teams can’t see us getting up here...some rumblings of some current resentment against JD & there just seems to be a bit of a negative vibe about the place of late. Early tip - IF we miss finals JD to be ousted & replaced by Haselby in 2012

Subi by 15 points - again, wouldn’t surprise to see Peel get up here, but reckon Subi are in really good form & pushing for 3rd spot & a home final

CL by 11 points - EP played really well last week or are EF just in bad form??? Guess we'll find out this week. CL to get up... just

SD by 2 points - reckon both ports clubs are on the slide & reckon with those IN's at SD they can cause an upset here

Suprised about Armstrong DD.... I know he had a bad game against EP as did the whole side basically. But he missed the previous game against SD due to injury, but Armstrong had 27 disposals in that upset win over Claremont at Tigerland before that. Perths second highest possession winner that day behind JKT.

I thought his experience would be vital and maybe he is a player who needs to find his suited position on any given day. I think it was last year he was propped up forward in a few games and kicked some big bags, yet playing in the middle a few weeks ago against CL he was in the thick of it with 20 handpasses.

Perth must have a few players in the reserves who could develop to the league side. They are having a good season unlike previous Perth reserves teams who have really struggled.

South have at least 7 players i have never heard of and these are the games you expect Perth to win but they always find a way to lose them,
After all said and done if Perth cant win this one at home what hope is there!Reckon this is one game where we don't want rain.
Perth by quite a few goals.
Claremont in a landslide.
Subi are playing for too much to let this one slip.
I am still not convinced about East Freo,Swans in an upset.

P. Beware the unhappy bullfrog, They are at their best when they are (supposedly) down. When the redlegs should win, they always seem to blow it.

EP. It's obvious who I'm going for. Even more so after the totally arrogant comments by pussy supporters on footygoose.

S. Even this far out, I'm tipping a big Finals series for Soobie. If they make it, that is.

EF. If the basso knuckledraggers were playing against the Taliban, I would be waving a flag for the terrorists.
