Make your self aware that your are present to your responsibilities.
Let me recall :Resposibility begins with willingness to be a cause in the matter of ones life. It is not a burden, fault, praise, Blame, credit shame or guilt. There is no evolution of good or bad, right or wrong. There is simply what so and your stand!.............................It is a grace you give yourself-an empowering context that leaves you with asay in matter of life. |

Feeling impotent and frustrated in the face of the insane political yammerings, thinking that I must leave the country if one of these crazy
right wingers is elected, ....and that is my job : to remember that it is all empty and meaningless, and I have the power to give it any meaning I want to. In the meantime continue to try to make a difference at the local level. 9/ 21/11, Crazy Old Jew |

I think that when you get resigned about something big - whether it be politics, or some social issue you want to make a difference with, etc. - you have to find tangible, immediate ways to take action and make a difference or you'll drive yourself crazy. It's great that you continue to do things at a local level, so that you can find contentment in action rather than just wishing things were another way. Then, if you wish, you can keep promising bigger and bigger actions to make a difference.

A place I found to stand with politics is to get that most people really are committed to making the world a better place - it's just that we get attached to our particular ways of doing things, and then start making other people wrong. I have yet to meet anyone on any wing of the political spectrum that I couldn't relate to and respect. The tricky part is drilling down to find the commitments.
