Call this f*cking race.
As for the Jr chatter...that #88 team should be embarrassed and humiliated. They're a f*cking joke, and Hendrick seriously needs to start firing some folks. Junior is as much to blame as the rest of 'em, as well. That whole team owes a lot of people an apology for being so shitty. There's no excuse for bringing such piles of junk to the racetrack each week when you're part of the Hendrick organization. |

Hendrick has tried really hard to give him rope because Dale Jr wants Eury Jr up there on that pit box. Last year was somewhat understandable as they were actually having some good success with consistent top ten finishes and higher. This year is a whole new animal, which I believe should be handled with less patience. Hell, even Jr. himself has to be pretty embarrassed, especially after today's finish as it's been called officially. Obviously no one can win every race (although it's possible), but Jr.'s a much better driver than he's showing to be this season. He's showed that in the past. With the ride he's got with Hendrick and the money he's making with Hendrick, he needs to feel the fire under his ass and kick it up a notch or ten. |

We all know there's a deeper relationship than just owner/driver with Jr. and Hendrick, but Hendrick is not a guy to let something like this go for too long. When he gives a driver a chance he expects results, especially from a guy like Earnhardt, Jr. But the car he had today was 100% pure junk. That's not the driver's fault. Did you see him trying to drive that thing? I've seen dirt track racecars with more control than what was being exhibited today in the #88. The fact that he didn't destroy that car into the wall or someone else is a testament to the fact that he IS still a tremendous racecar driver. His team is failing him. Junior has a lot of the blame on his own shoulders for this season's failures, but today was an example of the shitty equipment his team is unloading for him week after week. |

CONCORD, N.C. -- Team owner Rick Hendrick, who has previously said he doesn't plan to make changes to Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team, wasn't as definitive on Tuesday. "Could it change?" Hendrick said Tuesday following a meeting with NASCAR officials at the Research and Development Center. "We're talking about things. We're going to make decisions as the days go by, but we haven't made any decisions as it stands now." Earnhardt Jr. finished 40th in Monday's rain-delayed Coca-Cola 600. Hendrick did not specifically address breaking up Earnhardt and crew chief Tony Eury Jr. But in the past when discussing changes he made it clear that wasn't a consideration. He wasn't so clear on Tuesday with Earnhardt 19th in points, 203 behind Mark Martin for the 12th and final Chase spot. |

I agree to some extent. Even though I'm a Jr fan, I can absolutely see where he's made a ton of mistakes this season...inexcusable ones. I also agree with you on the fact that his car was absolute junk on Monday. He certainly has shown he is a great driver with the way he handles a car and even himself for the most part out there on the track every week. I wish I had a better idea as to what the hierarchy is in a NASCAR team. I'd be able to talk even more competently about this. Does the crew chief have the total responsibility and control in preparation of the car as far as what sort of set up it has, etc? I know on race day the crew chief is the man who orchestrates the dance they call the race strategy, but what about that which has to be done each week and otherwise to lead up to each race? |
