Todays Autosport has reported that there are suggestions Felipe will lose his drive in 2011. This is pure speculation of course, and personally I can't see how the man leading the championship is seriously being considered to be leaving at this early stage. Kubica is the rumoured replacement, but other than Autosport I have not seen this story anywhere..

hmm, I feel an autosport purchase coming on...
because im intrigued to know why on earth the championship leader would be considered to be axed from a team, I know Kubica is skilled but IMO massa is just as good. I will dismiss this as speculation and nonsense unless there is a really good reason...... |

Ferrari has hinted that they are going to extend Massa's contract for 2011 and that they want him onboard afterward. To quote Stefan Domenicali ""We want to build with Felipe into the future," said the Italian.

Probably just a leak to light a little fire under Massa's arse. And he needs it too, I think. Alonso has outclassed him so far in the season, no matter what the points say. Points: Massa 39 -37 I know Alonso looked a little better in the races but does everybody in this forum hold some kind of double standard when it comes to Alonso? Now, if this had happened last year, I don't think too many people would go on about how Kimi was better in the races and Massa was outclassed even if the real situation was, in many cases, exactly the same as this year. |

Massa is a driver that beat the great Michael Schumacher at times and on others was quicker. He vanquished Raikonnen and while he made errors, if it were not for the team errors he would have been champion in 2008, not Hamilton. And he won more grands prix in 2008 than Lewis.
Exactly what does Felipe have to do to be recognized? It is ALONSO that ought to be mentioned as performing less than expected - if this is to be applied at all. Excluding the ridiculous performances by Ferrari and Mclaren at Sepang, Massa and Alonso are equal 1 - 1 in qualifying and while the Brazilian has yet to win this season, it is HE who leads the championship after three rounds and not Alonso. What is wrong with THAT picture. I am sure Kimi must be chuckling to himself as he drives along in his Red Bull sponsored fast taxi cab prior to his returning to real racing in 2011 with RBR. Felipe Massa is quick and has shown himself, as has Lewis, not to be afraid of any other driver on the grid. It is Alonso that had better get his arse into gear or before he realizes it, he will be looking decidedly a lot like Kimi did at Ferrari. I did expect far more from Alonso. Ferrari would hire who? There is nobody at this stage. |

Well, since the points say who is WDC and who's second, third, etc. I guess it doesn't make a lot of difference who is percieved to have "outclassed" whom. Just a theory. |
