"There are very few people who know what really happened, and a piece of the puzzle only very recently fell off its pedestal,"
Alain has a bone to pick with Flavio , apparently . But , why bring it up now ? It could be that Prost might have something on Flav that was so unbelievable that before now it was pointless to bring out . Or , could it be that Prost might have something that Renault might not want out , and he's using it as a bargaining chip , to rain some karma on his old foe , and get back into the paddock at the same time ? Is it worth a contract to Renault to have him say that they knew nothing of the affair ? What actually happened , and how ugly was Flavio's involvement ? Revenge is a dish best served cold . Someone pass the salt to Alain . |

did Flavio Briatore leave some clues behind at Ligier team ?
1996 Monaco Grand Prix win For 1995 Walkinshaw bought 50% of the Ligier team from Benetton team principal Flavio Briatore. His intention was to take over the team completely, but he was unable to purchase 100% of the team and therefore pulled out of the deal. Instead he bought the Arrows team, [QUOTE In 1996, the Mugen Honda-powered JS43 turned out to be a well balanced car, if not on par with the Williams entries. It became a surprise winner as well, with the team taking the chequered flag with Olivier Panis at the Monaco Grand Prix, albeit in a race of heavy attrition. While the victory was a famous moment for French Motorsport (the first "all-French" victory at Monaco since René Dreyfus in Bugatti in 1930), it must be said it came very much against the run of play in a race in which only three cars finished. The team was sold to Alain Prost soon after and became Prost Grand Prix in 1997. Prost GP, despite substantial financial backing by large private French companies failed to make the team competitive and went bankrupt in 2002. The team traditionally used numbers 25 and 26. ][/QUOTE] |
