it certainly looks amazing, the pit lane looks great with all of the sponsors along the walls...

It looks great and is needed but it will be weird having them in a new track position...presumably meaning the start/finish line will be moved halfway round the circuit.

Well it will be very nice IF it actually gets built. This is hardly the first time this has come up. There was at least one plan to have to have an all new pit building in place between Club and Abbey for the 2003 GP as part of the whole 'Octagon' fiasco. Didn't happen though because of the same old problem. Money.

Roughly once every five years Silverstone unveil ambitious plans to redevelop or rebuild the paddock.

This time it at least appears that they've got the money and planning permission but you'll forgive me if I say I'll believe it when I see it.

does'nt look that great to me, just looks like they've added some plastic to whats already there.

What they need to do is build permanant stands for the spectators instead of the seated scaffolding they have all over the boring circuit.

The BRDC wasted money on that glossy design, better off running a competition with entrants from Northampton Primary Schools.

That firm came up with the new Wembley and end up coming up with a design that looks like it should belong in a Brazilian favela. Dear oh dear!

Slightly off-topic comes news...
The British government will have to explain how it intends to help secure Britain's motorsport industry from overseas threats in a debate in the House of Lords today...the government will have to officially declare its intentions during a debate that has been prompted by Shadow Defence Minister and President of the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA), Lord Astor of Hever. Baroness Vadera will give the response when asked: "what plans they (the government) have to improve support for the British motorsport industry to ensure it does not lose its global leadership."

Fair do's, the pits etc at Silverstone are old and out of date.

But what about Spa, and Brazil? I think that $100m, taken from a British team, ought to stay in Britain and build decent facilities at Silverstone.

Why should the Government fund this, just because other Governments are foolish enough to put money into a guaranteed loss making venture?

For me, F1 is a sport best enjoyed from the setee, in front of the telly. No big headed oik in front of you, no crap weather, and the best views. Because of Bernard Charles' greed, F1 tickets are so wildly expensive, I wont bother to visit a track to watch ever again - it's a false economy.

Well Bernard Charles would rather you pay silly money to enter to set foot inside the F1 paddock and everybody else watch it on the telly.

That's why he would rather hold races at places like Paul Ricard.

The ridiculously high sanctioning fees is because there is a list of bidders wanting to hold a GP and you can fit about 17 races a year therefore it generally goes to the highest bidder. The only way continental promoters can break even is to rip-off the general public.

And still the paying public keep digging deep into their sky rockets........
