Default Yeasayer
Let's have a Yeasayer thread!

New album Fragrant World out August 21st.

Tour

"Henrietta" vignette to take drugs to created by Yoshi Sodeoka.

Warm-up tour promo.

The best boy band.

Henrietta has really grown on me and might be one of my favourites by them, it's a really nice follow-on from Odd Blood and End Blood (which, by the way, was amazing right? Swallowing The Decibels!). Apparently it's about Henrietta Lacks, whose 'immortal life' through the HeLa cell line has been the subject of that bestseller you saw advertised bloody everywhere a couple of years ago.

I do hope they manage another amazing album.

Ambling Alp is one of my favorite songs! In fact, i kind of love all of Odd Blood. I wasn't a huge fan of their previous record, though. I'm interested to see what this one will be like.

^ Pfft. Their debut is magnificent. 2080 is one of the best songs by anyone ever and I will fight you if you disagree.

Not really spent a lot of time with Henrietta yet, but I am very excited by new Yeasayer, oh yes.

Not as good as Henrietta, but interesting. They really are pop-mongers.

Love Henrietta but Longevity slips a bit too deep into urban electro r'n'b. Anyway looking forward to the new album.

I'm so excited to hear they have a new album coming out. I love their weird songs like "The Children".

And, thoughts on the new one?
I don't really like it! It sounds so messy...

I tried listening but didn't get that far. There were a couple of tracks I quite liked, but I need to try again to be sure.

I've listened once through, there are some standout tracks, and some great hooks.
Waiting for the deluxe vinyl package to be delivered before I give it a serious critique, but I do think this is a good album. I'm excited to hear the title track on the 7" (sparkles!!)

I need to listen more, but not crazy about it quite yet. Seems a bit safer, actually, than Odd Blood. But it could definitely be a grower!

Finally someone bumps this record, been listening so much this week, great release. It's very strong but can't place over Odd Blood so i'll say their about even. I don't miss the All Hour Cymbals album because most of it was terrible except 2080 is classic.
