Years ago I came hear for hardware and software knowledge. Then I came for some game support. Then I answered questions and came for breaking news in various boards. Now I come to check up on the old guys and touch base once in a while.

Ok, we all know no one comes for the review of the upcoming big budget game that gets put up 3 weeks after the game is released (Jarnis, I like your reviews, and hopefully, one day you will be able to parlay your experience here into a job at a real game website. You know, one that can actually get its reviewers an early copy) or any other waste of space that is yougamers.com. So why do you come? Don't get me wrong, I still learn things on a daily basis in the cpu/gpu/game sections and enjoy the banter in politics i get from people i have come to know over the last decade.

But does anyone come anymore for anything that is actually FM related? FM has ass to do with anything I read on this forum. It has probably been 2 years since I ran a FM bench, namely because there are many newer, better ones to run (ie, i have a choice, something i didn't have much of ~10 years back).

So, other than the forum members, is there anything actually FM related that you come to the forums for?

I come to FM to discuss games. That's basically what I've always come here for. For the past few years I've mostly stuck to Console Gaming, with a bit of PC Gaming for old times' sake. I also visit General Discussion to fight Boredom™.

I have been noticing, lately, that I turn to lurking more than discussing. Maybe the adolescent(?) habit of needing to share / portray my opinion about everything is winding down a bit.

I never came to MadOnion (now Futuremark) for anything related to MO/FM itself, although I've occasionally found help in the more technical boards. Never really cared much for 3DMark - had my crazes for 3DMark2000 and 3DMark2001, but not so much that that's ever been a reason to keep visiting these boards.

Even though I've never met any of you face to face, and we often take shots at one another, I actually consider most of you guys my friends. As much of an ass as he was, I actually really liked EAG.

afaik, unless something has happened since i spoke with him, it is just a 2 week ban. He is an ass, something he would readily admit to. I'll tell ya what though, when you are playing a team game, there is no better trash talker to have on your side than EAG. It is a zinger a second with that guy, all while playing. It is really surprising coming from someone with such a height and pectoral disadvantage. Maybe that is why he is so good at it [rofl]

Pretty much the same for me on all accounts, even the EAG part. The friends part might be a bit strong, but yeah, I do find some comfort in the regulars here. This place is like an old blanket for me.

Same reasons, I've not run a proper bench since 3dmark01 (The glory days), but am just here mainly for the GD, PC Games & Religion/Politics boards, a lot of people may not recognise me but I recognise a lot of names here and that's what keeps me coming back.
