I think you've missed the point. It's a valid question, it might say something funny, but because people can't read it people might think all sorts of things. I'm sure he gets the joke...

As for trying it for real, yeah this would land you in trouble. Basically if there is any slight hint of there being any bomb on-board they will stop everything and you will be arrested. While you haven't said anything at least one passenger will be concerned, have watched too many movies, and think all bombs have a massive countdown timer...
