aahz: i've worked for lanie's before, and i live far enough away for things to be problematic. i also don't have a driver's license at the moment so my wife would have to cart me back and forth for a few weeks as i'm at the final stages of solving that particular problem. the position that's open there is 4pm-12am, and my son goes to bed around eight, and can't leave him alone in the house while she travels half an hour or so one way to pick me up.
applebee's is ten minutes away, so consider what twenty minutes roundtrip versus an hour is worth. |

As long as they're hiring, I didn't mind interviewing. I had a real good success rate on these.
It's when they weren't really hiring (already had someone) and were just interviewing to fulfill internal requirements, that I really had a problem with. Don't waste my time just so you can say you interviewed 10 people. |

You can always apply for unemployment. They are supposed to consider your last 18 months of work history, so even if you only worked a month at this place, you should still be okay, unless you haven't been working for a year and half.
Also, how many people worked at your company? You and your employees may be eligible for six weeks pay. I don't know how that works, though. |
