well if you guys happen to stop by Civ4 general, feel free to answer my thread question. Been playing civ4 last couple days- addictive as ever. But for some reason it won't let me attack the English. I'm not sure why. It's been a while since I played civ, so there may be some new things in a recent patch (I noticed they changed missile cruisers), or I may have forgotten something.

edit: I just realized it might be because i'm in Unversal Suffrage? Is my goverment preventing me from attacking another civ? (I attacked Mansa Musa to get his silver, but I need the gems from the English to complete my quest)

yes, I even got a response. Been a while since I played. I think I had a deal going with the English, therfore couldn't attack them. I got em in the end. Then made the americans my vassals. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/evil2.gif
