Default Cold Fusion -- It's BaaaAAAaaack...
But there's another problem that critics point out: the experiments produce excess heat at best 70 percent of the time; it can take days or weeks for the excess heat to show up. And it's never the same amount of energy twice.

Yep. No one is actually talking about a model for what the **** is happening.

I think this is an interesting anomaly. We'll just have to see where the science takes us on this.

Yes, let's see where science takes us on this. I guarantee it probably won't be in the direction those loons who believe this tripe want, though.

70% of the time and days/weeks later?

It should say something that they're on 60 Minutes, and not, say, an actual journal.

Ah, yes, my post should have read: 'Among mainstream media outlets, even 60 minutes sucks at distinguishing real science from pseudoscience'

I think you all are missing the most important part of all.

Now the Pentagon is funding more experiments

If the Pentagon is funding research, it means that you just need some palladium, a bucket of water, and a car battery. Make millions in easy government money.

A couple of weeks ago (I think) I saw something on Wikipedia about a group in the US trying to achieve fusion with a LOT of lasers. KH only said that they've been promising us cold fusion for a veeeeery long time when I asked his opinion. But I find myself favoring the expensive laser facility over the bucket of seawater and palladium.

$233.80 per ounce. Not too bad, yet.

It is possible that a bank in Nigeria is having so much trouble moving a dead prince's fortunes that they're reduced to employing random strangers off the internet...

If cold fusion were possible, it would be observed in nature.

Besides the cold fusion hocus pocus, I thiink it's an interesting anomaly on its own merit.

This would be true if I didn't believe that these people were sloppy scientists (based on their idiocy in claiming nuclear effects where the only reasonable effects are electrochemical).
