Default Happy Birthday Hitler!
I suppose Hitler was Welsh, too. He certainly looks the part.

Don't start, Drake. You know how desperate those Welshies are to latch on to bits of history. Next he'll start saying how great, if misunderstood, the Welshman Hitler was.

So you could wrestle the colonies away from the English, but not your homeland, huh?

Honestly, the only thing Welsh are famous for is a penchant for sheep-shagging.

I love that Australia will forever be known for basement rapists now.

Makes sense considering they're from down under...

Only cos Hitler didn't know what he was doing. If I'd have been in charge, the Germans would have won the war, no sweat...
Nope. You're Welsh. The Welsh don't know how to win wars.

Only if you were in charge of England.

We did run a campaign against the English occupiers by blowing up their holiday homes.
The Brits have the decency to attempt to upgrade your swamp and this is how you repay them? Although I can see the merit of attacking your enemy by blowing up stuff in your own country. Keep up the good work!

Well, I don't know about that. More and more of the Wehrmacht had to be transferred West as time went on - first North Africa, then Sicily/Italy, then the bomber campaign, and finally Normandy. I think we can all agree that the Soviet Union was probably unconquerable by the Germans at the time (although with different decisions made in 1941, such as the decision to go after the Ukraine instead of Moscow, who knows), but I do believe that had the Western Allies not been around or actively fighting, there's just about no way the Soviets could have conquered Germany - they would have bled to death just getting to Poland, IMO. With different German leadership and the ability to conduct an active defense, this is almost certainly true.
See, DF basically knows what he's talking about - the Indiana Twins could learn a thing or two from him...

Massive explosions probably improve the Welsh landscape.

A couple of quarries nearby have been flooded to create a nice lakes style nature reserve.

The two front war was an inevitability. The USSR was preparing to attack the Nazis, with a planned date of 1944-5. I suppose if more resources had been put into North Africa, the Brits could have been knocked out of the war sooner, but given the fact that the Nazis threw 80-90% of their military at the Soviets, I doubt they would have been able to succeed even if the USSR had their undivided attention.
So then, Hitler and Stalin planed their wars for quite the same time, as Poland was not meant to start a european war by Hitler. About north africa: I tend to share Mansteins opinion, that anything but an invasion of Britain could not even hope to be decicive and thus merely a diversion. All those coast lines would have needed garrisons - it would have eaten up half the Wehrmacht as occupation force to go through the middle east. BTW, Britain never was knocked out of the war, so ´sooner´ is out of the question. 80-90% is exgerated as well. 75-80% of the land forces where deployed in the USSR prior to Normandy and that doesnt take the subs or airplanes into account, both reducing that number further. The war in the east was, btw, unwinnable for Hitler, regardless of military strength, simply due to its intended nature of being a war of destruction - to surrender is not even an option, if extermination or siberia is what you get for it. Thus the soviets (are rather: the people in the east) would have kept on fighting, even if sticks and stones would have been all thats left to them.

What I imagine Josef Goebbels would say if he were still alive today...

Still, it does serve as a timely reminder of the evils perpetrated during the Second World War.

One would have thought we would have learned to live together on this planet by learning the lessons of those dark days - No one should forget what people like Hitler did, but apparently we have if the state of the world today is anything to go by...
Funny thing...this post is so ambiguous it could be viewed as being either anti-nazi or pro-nazi.

The only possible reason for celebrating Hitler's birthday, is the birthday present he got in Bergen, Norway in '44: A ship with 120 ammunition got blown up. But a lot of innocent people died, so then again no. Which brings me to the point: Why this thread?
