Default Gun freaks, lets see your guns!
So I'm in the market for a gun, but the problem is, I have no idea what I want. I was just talking to my brother and he seems to have swayed me towards a .40 Desert Eagle. Sounds nice, I guess.

I haven't shot a hand gun since I was about 15 yrs old, and that was just a .22 revolver. I think I need to go shootin' before I can really decide on which one to get.

Of course, I'd have to get my concealed hand gun license.

Lets see your guns.

While I'm a firearms advocate and I even went through the hassle to get my New Jersey Firearms Purchaser ID, I don't own a single firearm. I chalk it up to not having an extra $900 to buy that Sig P226 that I want, and nowhere convenient to shoot. The closest place to shoot for me would be 30 minutes away and cost upwards of $500 for the first year after initiation fees. That sure isn't happening on my full-time student budget, that's for sure.
I'll stick to fishing for the time being. $33 a year gets me my license & trout stamp for a year, and I already have plenty of gear. The only things I need to buy for this year are line and maybe a few lures, although I already went nuts when the store I worked at went out of business. How could I go wrong at 50% off?

If your a gun noob I would suggest you buy a Glock. Glock's are safe, accurate, reliable , easy to maintain, easy to add accessories and have good prices.

Models I would recommend would be the Glock 19 9mm (you can get 33 shot clips for these with a laser / light combo and it looks bad ass) if you want a gun that can hold a lot of ammo and have low recoil.

Or get a glock 23 .40 cal for some more knock down power. Either way you will be getting a great pistol. I got a Glock 22 40. about 7 years ago and it still looks like brand new and has been an awesome pistol for the money.

My friend just bought a Beretta 92FS Vertec 9mm. Very nice gun and it didn't cost him much. The H&K .45 are also very nice but they are going to run you a pretty penny.

GolemFrost is not talking about a gun. More-so his "steel cannon."

We're not allowed to show pics of our guns?

I just got back from the gun show and I think I'm leaning towards a .40, but not sure which one yet. The Desert Eagle may be too expensive.

There were lots of neat weapons at the gun show. I wish I got their earlier. It cost $6.00 to get in, and was only there for 30 minutes before they closed.

Glock or Beretta are what I may end up with. They seem reasonably priced and reliable.

According to almost everybody, this is the new **** to get, the M&P .45 from Smith and Wesson. But you should handle the gun before you buy one, make sure you're comfortable with them.

And I imagine you're talking about the Baby Eagle/Jerricho instead of the Desert Eagle. They don't make the Desert Eagle in .40 S&W.

And if you ask me, I'd stay away from Beretta. I mean, they're alright, I just wouldn't buy one.

I too am an advocate for the mighty Glock. I have a Glock 21 (.45 caliber for the uninitiated), and it's quite a beast. However, I was actually quite surprised at how well it shoots for the amount of power it has. Fun stuff [yes]

Hmm... this looks interesting.

I really need to shoot some before I buy anything. The problem is, where do I go to shoot a gun I don't own?

Gun ranges tend to have rentals of popular models. And if they sell them too, you can probably let them know you're interested if they don't have it for rent. Maybe they'll let you have a test drive.

My father has a Baby Deagle in .40. It's nice, but nothing I'd ever give up my H&K USP Compact .40 for.
