Default seasonal depression
Anyone else have this? It's seriously extremely annyoing. I get pretty much irrated by anyone and anything, such as a person walking slow in front of me on the street and letting something fall on the floor. I get angry at my gf for no reason and start thinking badly about her (even though she's always nice to me)..It just makes me want to punch something. Sometimes I don't feel like talking to anyone.
Next to that I feel like sleeping instead of doing anything else. I usually went to the gym 5 times a week, but now I tend to skip some days, because I rather sleep. Today I went to the gym, but stopped after 30 minutes, because I felt fatigued and felt it was useless to work out anyway. I feel like I'm getting out of shape and I don't feel all that great about myself and others.. Now I pretty much feel like this every winter or when the weather is bad. I try to take vitamines and other stuff to make myself feel better, but it doesn't seem to help. I feel bad for having other people such as my gf to be affected by it, but I can't really help it. Every time I see a super happy face I get pissed... Sometimes I feel like Jeckel and Hyde..
What could I do about this? Some people say tanning helps, but it's way to expensive to do that every day. Going outside doesn't seem to help either.. I guess I have to spend my winters in hot countries...

Yes I get that as well, not as bad but I notice I really lose energy and am just content to sleep, I'd rather be dreaming than face the world.

It's linked to winter for me, I've been living in Northern NSW and Southern QLD for the last two years and it's been far less noticeable.

I've really got to kick myself in the ass when it happens though to get going everyday.

Funny thing is at Summer I am too active, I can't settle down.

I get the same way in the winter. Usually starts after Christmas once the whole holiday rush is over and there is just the cold and snow to deal with.

Our winters drag on here (had a big snow storm only 2 days ago [thumbdown]). Once the weather gets better I usually perk up. Nice and warm now and it looks like the sun is trying to come out. This is a good thing. Too bad I have a damn project presentation to do.

I get it every now and then. I wouldn't say that mine is seasonal though. Sometimes I will get it for a day, realize it and stop it. Then sometimes, I just can't help it and it will go for 3 to 5 days. Nothing serious though. Just minor depression. I am getting it a little more often then I usually do because this year is just packed with so much happening this year.

Getting married, having a kid, honey moon, 2 baby showers, wedding shower, bacholor party, birthdays, honey moon, work, school, going to be searching for a job, applying for benefits, dealing with families during all this, babies room, getting baby stuff together, wreck earlier this year, canceling the wedding late last year, ect. ect. ect.

i usually get that too, mostly cos of when each and every day however busy or even boring it gets feels "exactly the same" as the day before, and somehow i know that it'll be the same the next day. kind of like you're living your life on rails. what i do is i try something else or something new, however small that new "thing" may be. i walk to and from work everyday..what i did was just to take a new route and it kinda worked.

what you describe doesnt seem seasonal, it seems just like plain depression my friend. And if you arent able to control it, which you have described you cannot, you need to visit a professional and get their help.
It's what I had to do to get my depression under control. And it felt amazingly wonderful to not want to sleep all the time, have extra energy to go do stuff, to smile more, etc etc etc.
