Two good matches for sure...[thumbup]

Haye vs Mac, I can see Mac winning this one by knockout as long as he goes all out attack in the first few rounds, if it goes on longer I can see Haye's arguably better boxing skills wearing Mac down for the points win.

Calzaghe vs Hopkins, well what can I say, you just can't take anything away from Calzaghe anymore has he has always pushed himself up to the plate and done the job, and the last Kesler fight was another boxing masterclass against a more powerful/harder hitting opponent (like Hopkins will be), you can't question his jaw either, it's made out of nothing less than Welsh quarry granite...

But he is also stepping up in weight, and we all know what happened to Ricky Hatton...
Calzaghe looked quite alot smaller than Hopkins during their verbal spar, I wonder how much good weight he can gain in the run upto April.

He definately needs to beef up some.

Well he needs to bulk up a little for sure, but he does have the advantage of being a pure 'Boxer' so the weight/build disadvantage won't affect him as much as a slugger/brawler type who needs to rely on power (*cough* Hatton).

Another thing Hopkins has going against him is his age, and I remember him getting narrowly beaten twice by Jermain Taylor at middleweight, so maybe Calzaghe's style would be difficult for the old fella.

How would I go about getting Setanta on Virgin? Do I have to get the 'XL' package or can it be added seperately?

I was reading the South Wales Echo this evening and it said a 2.30am. I'd be surprised if it stays on schedule though, these things always start later than planned (more advert breaks...)

*Groan* Audley is a ****, but they ripped him apart good afterwards.

I've run out of food, I wish the damn thing would hurry up.

EDIT: A win for Calzaghe, but not a convincing one. Looked proper scrappy and no suprise after the terrible first round.

Joe never looked dangerous, winning purely on agression and workrate. Hopkins, dirty and effective at breaking Calzaghe's game, always posed a threat. Cortez is still a goonie.

I have a feeling Barry McGuigan is right, he'll go after Roy Jones and call it a day. I don't think a rematch would be in his best interest at all.

Do you think he looks comfortable at that weight? I mean he never was the biggest hitter and now against heavier guys Joe's game looks a little ineffective.

Roy Jones has had his fair share of upsets, granted and past his best, but Joe will never have faced anyone of his calibre before.

Threre's a possibility if it goes the distance, it could swing in Calzaghe's favour, the judges like his style, amazing stamina and heart. Providing there wasn't an early upset I guess it *could* go either way, but there's a lot of work to do between now and then.

Default Calzaghe vs Hopkins - 12 April - Las Vegas
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7172156.stm

Another high profile boxing match is on its way and I can't wait!
Should be a great fight and hopefully will live up to expectation a little more than Hattons last outing.

Slightly less high profile and coming soon is David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli which will be brutal and probably the better fight.

A good year for boxing again?

Sweet, I've been looking forward to this fight since the talks started. I LOVE Calzaghe's passion, he will dig deep and make sure his fans get what they came for [thumbup]

Can't wait. It's going to be a monster of a fight!

Haye is arguably the better boxer, I like Big Mac though, he's got immense strength, energy and punching power - a hard man with some character to boot.

As for Calzaghe, everyone has such high expectations of the man, can't see him letting anyone down on the night win or lose.
