Default Does absolute faith corrupt as absolutely as absoulte power?
Absolute faith in and of itself confers no ability to act upon it freely. Absolute power does.

Given that corruption arises from the ability to act without recourse or reprisal, I would say absolute faith does not corrupt absolutely.

I would argue that absolute faith does not corrupt, those that possess it are already corrupt.

The idea that power corrupts implies that a man who was once good or at least not evil, who enjoys power for too long will turn evil. Ultimately, you don't want to trust anyone with too much power for too long because it will make them evil. One that has absolute faith is by definition willing to do anything for his faith and therefore already corrupt in the sense that he will do anything onto the infidels.

Not every evil dictator is an example, because some were really evil before achieving power too.

I don't consider that absolute faith. If you sincerely believed that your religion was the best why would you have to kill people who don't share your views? Wouldn't that be evidence of a lack of faith, that you fear them?
