Default jason hommel arrested
Man Arrested for Child Endangerment

Gary Jacobson October 13 08:43am

A man is in jail after choking a woman while she was holding her baby. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says the incident took place late Tuesday evening on Brooks Road. 41 year old Jason Hommel was putting his crying eleven month old son to bed. The baby’s mother heard the cries become muffled and asked Hommel if he put something over the babies face. Sheriff Royal says he became enraged.

“He becomes angry and enraged and ultimately grabs her by the throat and starts choking her. She is forced to the ground and he gets on top of her. During this altercation, she is still holding the child in her arms and then he continues to choke her.”

Finally Hommel got off the victim, the entire time she was holding the baby. Sheriff Deputies took him into custody for suspicion of spousal abuse and child endangerment. He was booked at the Wayne Brown correctional facility.

not endorsing violence here, especially against women or kids...

but thats got to be pretty tough on him, he was quite proud of his family.

the ex-wife, and the lawyers will get all his silver....

and with that charge hanging over him, he will be lucky to have any visitation rights with his kids, that are unsupervised

he did a lot for the silver movement, and I hate to see one moment of bad judgement ruin a mans life.... and this certainly has the smell of ruination....

take care Jason,

I had an ex once, same type of situation, I beat her and punched her and tried to choke her all the time while she was holding my infant son. I called the Feds and they arrived in a short while, I was drinking and pretty wasted. They were about to arrest me and then one of the officers found my recorder that the ex pulled out of my hands... Game over, she had to leave. It was all premeditated by her thinking I would spend at least the Xmas/new years in jail. I never even touched her, she was the one spitting, kicking and punching me with my son in her arms. Divorce is war and treat it as such, never think otherwise.

I love women, hate mental illness.

I'm wondering about the Sheriffs comments here. Was the Sheriff standing there witnessing all of this or were they told this story by one of the parties? If so that would make them a pretty poor Sheriff IMO.

I've seen fights, lets call them that, where the wombman was handed the baby to the man, then started beating on the man while he is holding the baby.
What can the guy do? I've seen a few DV victims who were the instigators but of course THEY were really the victim. Not saying it's the way things always are but for every story the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.

Story's dated 10/13, he should've been released and have something to say by now, if he chooses to say anything- maybe not wise though.

Also striking how the story lacked the standard language like "it is alleged that", or "Mrs. Hommel has alleged that" or "Mr. Hommel was accused of". instead it just tells the tale as though it's all established fact, no conflicting accounts etc.

no denials either,

he will see them when they graduate high school...

I had a buddy, went through a messy messy divorce, his ex made up some similar story on him.

he lost all his guns, I am pretty sure Jason has a good collection of firearms...

those are history now....

my buddy had a security clearance at the time, took him over 2 years to get it cleared up, cost him a small fortune as well...

"he said she said"

if she is upset at you, she can say anything happened....

Nothing the guy can do, but take it. Women do have the power in our society. As in the case of JH, all it takes is one allegation and it's over...

I honestly have a hard time thinking everything in this story is true. I have a hard time believing a family loving man who wrote "I am blessed", who has a great life...would snap and start strangling his wife like that. If he did it, he deserves what is coming his way. If he didn't do that, he has been wronged.

It's sad to see someone build a great life, to have it destroyed overnight. What a waste.
those are my thoughts as well.....

just does not make sense....

The fact that women can basically have a man's property confiscated without due process of law is outrageous. All they have to do is lie. Tragic.
