Oh, and FWIW, Cain's '9-9-9' tax proposal is merely 666 inverted.

That is probably just a coincidence!

So it means Business, income and sales tax should be 9%, that is interesting...

Anytime a thief comes to you and promises to steal less than the other thieves, Something is drastically wrong with our society.

What happened to a voluntary society? Is that so hard to comprehend? I dont care if my taxes get lowered to 1%. If i dont voluntarily give the 1%, THEN IT IS STOLEN FROM ME. And any man who cannot hold, use, and dispose of his private property as he sees fit is a Slave to whoever can.

Make no mistake about it.

Gay Old Pervert logic. "Lookey everyone, our candidate is blacker and has a bigger cock than Obama. That means we're even more hopey and changey.

He seems like a tough, intelligent man, who achieved a lot in his life in very varied positions from humble beginnings. But having been chairman of the Kansas Federal Reserve Bank makes him very suspect re his loyalties...

After completing his master's degree from Purdue, Cain left the Department of the Navy and began working for The Coca-Cola Company as a business analyst. In 1977, he joined Pillsbury where he rose to the position of Vice President by the early 1980s. He left his executive post to work for Burger King – This dude looks like a well groomed poster child for Corporatism.

I asked someone I know who's very active in Fla. politics what his take was, here's his response:

Each candidate was allowed 15 minutes to address the delegates just before we voted at the straw poll. Here is a little background:

1. Ron Paul was not there. His turn was first, and someone (I forget who) read off of of a note pad what seemed to me to be "Ron Paul facts", how he did not participate in the congressional pension, turned in office money, etc etc. Not once did the guy mention anything about bringing the troops home, ending foreign aid, the Fed, inflation, all the things that make his campaign important. This was an extremely low key, boring talk, uninspiring, put-you-to-sleep thing. The guy could have just read my slim jim, word for word and done 100% better (pardon my bias).

2. Herman Cain… He came out and the place went wild! He made an inspiring passionate speech, no notes, no teleprompter, frequently interrupted with massive standing, cheering ovations. He sounded like a Baptist preacher, great conviction. I was impressed! I hadnt heard anything like that from any of the candidates. I immediately knew we (Ron Paul) were in deep trouble. Note: Ron Paul attended the convention Friday morning and left. Herman Cain spent the weekend, shaking hands, hugging anyone who had a Delegate Badge, posing for pictures, chatting, etc etc. The man knows how to politic.

3. Rick Santorum.. Blah Blah, same thing you heard in the debates, how he beat everyone in every election he was in, defied the odds, and gave a passionate speech about abortion, even described graphically a partial birth abortion. I thought he was really sick, made numerous religious comments.

4. Rick Perry… He was not there but a large black man read from a note pad, all the good things about Rick Perry. It was so boring, so uninspiring, I almost fell asleep. He got little to no reaction from the audience.

5. Newt Gingrich.. He seemed happy, smug, cheerful, chatted about this and that, gave Marco Rubio a huge plug that he will be fought after as a VP candidate. I got the impression he is not a serious candidate, just spending some nice time in Florida.

6. John Huntsman.. His sons and daughters, very attractive young people gave an opening speech about their father in person, boring, and then they showed a video of Huntsman, triple boring, don’t remember a thing that was said. No audience reaction at any time.

7. Michelle Bauchman.. Did not show, had no presentation.

So, that is how I saw it. Obviously, Herman Cain stole the show. Im surprised he didn’t get even more votes.

My analysis: I was critical of the 2008 campaign, and I feel they made their first blunder by not having Ron Paul do more to promote himself before the vote, and by not showing up at the straw poll. He is the only candidate who wants to end the war, end foreign aid, bring the troops home. He should have stood on that straw poll stage and hammered that theme home and repeated it and asked the audience if they wanted to contribute money out of their own pockets to prolong the war. He is not the dynamic speaker like Cain, but he has better ideas, and of course, would make a better president.

I talk to people every day in my store and the, end the war - end foreign, aid is a hot button that gets people riled up. I just wish I were on his campaign staff and could give them some practical advice.

If they asked for donations in your town so that the streets could be repaired, would you volunteer to help pay for it?
Personally, I feel that if people want services where they live, everyone living there should get an equal bill for services rendered.
Joe King = STATIST. But most here know that.....

Did you really try the old 'pave the streets' trick on me? Are you asleep?

Streets are paid for by gasoline tax. Next.....

Can you intellectually rebut this statement?

"And any man who cannot hold, use, and dispose of his private property as he sees fit is a Slave to whoever can."

So you are OK with a Gasoline tax to pay for upkeep of roads? Any other taxes you would be OK with?

I knew something was going wrong when, a few days before the poll, they media started talking about Chris Christie joining the race. The same thing happened in Iowa; when it looked like Paul might do well, Bacmann bought 4000 votes and then Perry started talking about entering.

With Paul's stand on military interventionism and etc, it's no surprise he didn't do well in Fla.

I heard on NPR or one of the other radio news spots that Perry bought everyone breakfast or lunch and still had a poor showing.

http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthre...210#post463210

Ahead of the test vote, Perry's campaign bought breakfast for hundreds of the party faithful assembled for a three-day conference and debate. Perry said skipping the straw poll was a blunder.

Not all of the motor fuel tax goes to strictly road construction. A lot of .gov overhead is involved. If this tax works so great currently, why are all the roads I drive on crappy? I'm not saying that in theory the would work, but the graft involved give us this end result, not to mention piss poor planning.

The local communities are siphoning off road repair funds to pay for auto union pay increases. Don't forget the insane pay rates for .gov road contracts.
