Also several fruit trees loaded with apples, cherries, Asian pears, almonds, apricots, peaches and plumbs.

This new home makes me feel like a farmer...:charge

dubGucKcolo 06-20-2007 12:34 PM

that's a good idea, my new house has a very small front garden and a slightly bigger back.

I thought about planting some herbs (Tomatoes and any other veg is out of the question).

It also saves money on groceries, although I bought some bread at Morrison's yesterday and was so surprised to have seen a HUGE price drop on it.

Why is this place so dead?

I also noticed that when the announcement of Sin passing away, people started to stop coming in.

Maybe the arguments between Sin and the fellow liberals were quite entertaining for people!

By the way, where's MJ Junkie? where's Phreakmeister (I even PMed him once but it said his message box was full)? What's up with all these people dropping off the face of the earth?

You got it going on there Dusty. I was married to a farmer and you name it he planted it so I am not interested in doing anything but eating what somebody else has grown and gives it to me.

I knew there had to be something Dusty and I had in common.

I grow a veggie garden every year. This overview is from about a month ago:

I've gotten into berries the last few years, so I'm growing four types now: Marion, Logan, Black and Raspberries. I'm also growing corn, potatoes, squash, carrots, beets & pole beans. I'll post some new pics soon. In the meantime, CATNIP!

Lot of work there Mike. Guess you plan on feeding your neighbors.

Rexaviennatutr 06-24-2007 10:12 PM

I usually have more than I can use, so yeah some of it does go to the neighbors. ;)

Tig Nice layout! - Your garden is better suited for growing than mine. Your's gets full sun all day - mine is shaded in the late afternoon.

My overview (some of my planters are located in the "boneyard" behind the rear fence. You can just see the front of my shop on the right.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...s/overview.jpg

There is some critter that is sleeping in the middle of this plant at night. Probably a skunk because we frequently see him ambling along by the boneyard.

Sweet and cherrie plums in the boneyard.

I have two of these pomegranate plants.

This tree is loaded with figs.

I have three of these Bing cherry trees. They have already produced this year.

6 of these Blue berry bushes

You lucky b Dusty, living in California...I wish I could grow oranges. Asian pears are awesome, incredibly juicy. One of my neighbors grows them.

A few years ago I planted a sour cherry tree (I'll post a good pic of it soon--you can see it in the lower middle of my overview pic). It's really starting to produce this year. I love cherry pie, what can I say.

I had a "visitor" in the garden last night (or early in the morning)--probably a deer. It chewed off a few samples from the tomato plants, the cherry tree and the Marion berries. Might have to take some preventative measures if it keeps up. I have to keep the corn patch fenced off because the racoons would destroy it otherwise.

You have two huge trees that have fruit on them and don't know what they are?http://bestsmileys.com/lol/14.gif

I do have Japenese plums, fig trees, lemon tree, pear trees, a mulberrry tree, pecan tree and grape vines.
