Hmmm sounds like a war of the powers.
![]() Ok I got it figured out. If you vote negative you take away half of whatever your rep power is. tig you have 54 so if you vote neg on somebody you take away 27 pts from somebody. (If it's odd like 55 it will round off) If you approve of a post then you give them 54 pts. In my case I had me set to only 10 rep. pts. The one showing now is my real power. So I can give 131 pts or take away 65 pts., but so you don't think I'll play favorites I'll lower mine to where I can only give so many instead of what I can really give. Those in the red have to build back up to green before they can vote. |

Also the pts you give or take away go to the pts showing in your user CP and that determines your rep power. Haven't figured that out yet. *smile* Your pts in your user CP are also what gives you the green dots.
Well MJ I'm working on some kinda promotion like instead of being just a registered member you can be something else. |

While I'm not taking the reputation function too seriously, because this kind of thing is far too predictable, members should bear in mind that mods can see who has voted for whom. To help the mods and members, if you could please leave a comment on why you particularly liked or disliked the post you're voting on, then that way we can work out if the voting is vindictive or genuine. If people are going to get worked up about it or misuse it, then we can always pull the plug on the feature.

I can see the comments now.........."because you're a lib" -- "because your a neocon" --"because I just don't like you" the best would be just "because you don't agree" with what someone posted
I have a very nice comment that says "Honest, patient and genuine!" Thank you to the one that left me that comment and you know who you are. ![]() |

Id: does how often you vote positively or negatively for other people affect your rep points or power? For example if you only vote negatively against members, does it reflect negatively on you?
Also, what determines the number of green dots one gets. And why, for example, does MJjunkie have more green dots than me but less points? |

So you have been voting Tigger.. I didn't think you would since you made that famous quote I inserted in my first post.. Somehow I never thought of you being petty..
![]() Tigs famous Quote... Just realize that the lower someone's score is, what it reveals (rather than the worth of the poster) is the pettiness of the person(s) going out of their way to give them negative votes. And you folks know who you are. Well I won't be voting for or against anyone so ya'll can have your fun.. ![]() |
