Maths teacher Haitham Nabeel Abdelhamid, 23, took Islam Amr Badr outside the classroom and hit him violently in the stomach.The 11-year-old boy fainted and later died in hospital of heart failure in the city of Alexandria.The court was told the boy had four broken ribs. Abdelhamid was convicted of manslaughter.

If he was CONVICTED of manslaughter, the 11 year old died some time ago.

To be, he's not even entitled to be compared as a teacher but good point hehe..

6 Years!?! That's almost as **** as what he'd have gotten in the UK. [cursing]

Hell i'd take a few people round the back of a school and beat them to death if i knew 6 years (3 with good behaviour) was all i'd get [thumbdown].

I thought Egypt was one of the hardcore punishers? You know...chopping hands off for stealing and the like [rolleyes].

Pretty tragic, but (at least here in the US) many more teachers are injured by students than Vice-versa. Strangely, you rarely hear about how common that is, especially in the inner cities.
