Default Shameless self promo
I just wanted to invite everyone down to the Cellar this Thursday to check out my quartet featuring Brad Turner, Chris Gestrin and proud new sax owner Terry Deane. We'll be playing music by Woody Shaw, John Coltrane, Freddie Hubbard, Ralph Bowen and who knows what else.

See you all there,

Jesse Cahill

In the spirit of shameless self-promotion I would like to let everyone know that I will be playing at the Cellar on Oct 22 with a great band of some of Vancouver's finest. I hope you all can make it down, I am learning a new lick especially for this gig. PD

Hey - I just took a peeak at my message and grimaced intensely when I saw that smart-ass slogan - "yeah right" - the left-over droppings from a prior moronic exchange I had the temerity to be part of.

What I really meant to say was that I am most definitely gonna be there because I deserve to hear you again, PD, and I encourage others to do the same.

And that stupid motto stays there 'til think of something neater.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Warm Regards
Lazz

Why was I not informed of this?

you should have read my book. Speaking of books, years ago Campbell was talking about writing a pop psychology/self-help book. It was going to be called "I'm OK, f**k you". Seriously though, the discovery of this second lick has changed my life, especially since I discovered that it works in both keys.

You're more than welcome to use my lick for the gig. I'm not using it that night, and if it doesn't get driven for a while it gets hard to start up and the interior smells musty.

It's like John's, but it's written in bass clef.

Oh, and mine's made of 100% recycled post-consumer quarter note rests, so it's eco-friendly too.

OK, I confess...I have an ulterior motive for offering.

I've always been curious to know what it sounds like played in tune and in time.

In tune 'and' in time? You should know by now that you can't have both, unless you throw it into Pro Tools.

Hi out there......

I'd like to remind everyone - and particularly guitar players, that Lorne Lofsky will be at the Cellar this weekend and if you're unfamiliar with Lorne I'd definately urge you to come and hear him - a great player.

He's there with myself, Miles Hill and Wacker - and I for one am really looking forward to it.

Thanks - Cam.
