FINALLY ... got my promotion
Some of you may/may not know that my job situation has been very interesting the past few months. I was originally trying to get an office job with the mechanical contractor I work for. I had been through a couple meetings and was building towards moving up to do Controls work/design...
Then we got bitch-slapped by the econemy and a couple of folks got let go. Running shorter hours etc we thought we were going to all get layed off....fast forward in time again and ....*drum roll*...i finally got my promotion. I'm not the service coordinator; so i handle inbound HVAC service dispatch etc. I finally get to park my car in a parking lot and not on the street, and I finally get vacation thank god. The only downside(or upside, depending how u look at it) is i might consider getting a different car now! |
congratulations!!!
Why would a different car be in order? Also, might i suggest another of Dodge's fine SRT lineup.... haha! |
my next car will be another SRT vehicle for sure
|
im considering going for something bigger and alittle more comfortable. the viper seats and entry is a bit uncomfortable especially at 6am. I really like driving stick, and the power of the car but im debating the upgrade.
the 300 is just a fuckin stylish ride. |
You'll test drive luxury cars and you'll love them at first. Then you'll do what I did and what a few of my other friends did. Trade in your fancy BMW for a sport ride because although a luxury car is comfortable it's boring as piss to drive. I had a 328i fully loaded. I probably could have had it wipe my ass if I wanted to program it in. Was it luxury? Hell yes. But it was boring. When I traded it in I was asked by every dealership what the hell I was thinking..I told them the BMW couldn't even break loose off the line with a V6, I'm better off driving a boat anchor.
Sure that's my story, but I'd have to say if you're truely into cars and going fast - a luxury liner is not for you. You need a cross with speed & luxury. Gregg is right - Move up in class to an SRT-8 and you'll love it. ALthough you might not like the price tag http://www.wisrts.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.png |
i don't know too much about them.. when did they start doing the GCsrt-8? My budget unfortunately wouldn't be quite as high as that. Probably lookin at no more than $20k if i decide to do it. I havn't seen many of those for sale so i don't know the price range.
the 300c srt would be kickass but the pricetag usually kills it. The v8 300 is closer to my pricerange although i really need to drive one to see. |
Congrats on the promotion man! I was poking around on autotrader a couple days ago just to see whats out there. I found a silver Charger SRT-8 for 22K. If I wouldn't be upside down on my loan, I would have that already. With the car market the way it is, you probably have a good amount of options.

cross.....i parted my neon out once because i was going to upgrade, biggest mistake i ever made, i lost all the money on the parts and redid it soon after the partout, those big cars are nice to drive in, but theyre slow, gas guzzlers and cant handle worth a damn, get a ride in rickys car and i guarantee you'll keep the neon |
well I don't have much into mods...alot of my parts i got in trade/used for a good price.
I do like my neon, dont' get me wrong. but some of the "smallness" is starting to wear on me. the other issue is that I do like the gas mileage of a 4cyl..and of course moving up a a big decent sized 8...well kinda sucks. |
