Default Chase Bank Account
So lately I have been receiving a few emails from chase bank that my account needs to be verified. Great.
Last time I checked I had no bank account there, so perhaps now they are giving out free accounts with money in them?
The best part was, I clicked on the link, and it took me to a page that didn't work, so I went to chase.com and lol the site was not working and was under maintainance.

Be careful, could be a loan account
I once was received all these weird letters to my house after I opened an account with a bank. I even received holiday cards and everything from them. They were soo nice to me.
Then I noticed that the mailed account monthly info didn't match my records so i went back and complained to them. What we found out is that an employee had the exact first and last name as me!
Sadly, the holiday cards stopped arriving.

I'm thinking about Capital One. I have a Citi card that I regret ever getting because I get 10 letters a week for different offers from them.

LOL...
There are always free accounts with free money...you just got to know where to find them
On a more serious note, never respond to any request for confidential information via email. I don't work for Chase but I am at another financial institution, we advise our clients/customers to immediately delete any email requesting personal information. A lot of those are floating around these days - everything looks legit except they are not...paypal (fake) emails are on the rise...
