Default Photography advice
Ok so I am trying to take some pictures of an mp3 player, but sadly the thing reflects it's surroundings rather badly. It's almost like a mirror.
But I have seen press pictures of it where it doesn't look like a mirror. Anyone know how to get around the mirror problem? ie lighting setup, maybe time of day shooting or anything else that will lessen the effect of the mirror like qualities of the object.

Reflections are easily made invisible if the surround is white. Try taking the shot on an angle and cover the part of the environment which reflects with a white towel or thick piece of paper. I hope this helps!

Yup, white is the key. Adding white to background and adding light between the two means needing less flash if any is needed. The problem is by not using any flash you can produce a forward shadow. The only way to get rid of a forward shadow is by adding stronger light in the front or more flash.
