Default I got into an accident...
I got into an accident yesterday morning just after droping off my 1 year old son at the babysitter. I was driving my 98 C230 and it doesn't look pretty. I was driving on the right of a dual two lane street (North Ave. in Elizabeth) when the guy on the opposite side made his left onto my direction. I had no chance to brake so I cut the car to the left. I still hit him at the quarter panel pretty hard. The whole passenger side section is shot. I called my freind to pick me up because the metal was against the tyre. But my freind and I were able to kick back the metal in so it wouldn't get towed. I think it may get a total loss.
I'll have pics up soon.

Update: The damage is $6200!
Worse news is the car isn't worth that much, about $8500.
We got a 2005 VW Jetta loaner. (POS, but the wife likes it for some odd reason) I neutral drop the tranny... it still holds well.

It's nice but it's also $38K+ for a small 4 door. I may wait until summer to buy a another car. Chances are will be brand new.

How many miles.....errr, light years does it have? And don't I need some sort of licence for those things? I hear they are a pitty in tight parallel parking.

Can't wait for the porsche, colour should be great when finished. Sorry to hear about your MB, $6k in damage is quite a lot, everything depends now on the value of the car and if it makes sense to fix it. Hope things work out for you.

oh its in pristine condition, it was attacked a few times, attacked other craft even more, its got some really strong defensive shields and very effective gun batteries
its about 4 years old, none of the Governments on this planet like it when people bring it down, but its not like they can do anything about it

I know what the problem is, it's the fuel injector. Not enough pressure. They worked on it and said to use the highest grade fuel to clean it out some more and in about 500 miles it should be normal. if not, they can't fix it.
Beforehand the car wasn't working at all
I'm craving a new car which we were originally going to get last Fall, but family and budget problems have put those plans to the wayside.

The pics kinda shows a light hit but it's worse in reality. The pass. fender is against the door, the air box is cracked, both lights are shot, the hood is way off and doesn't close, the front support is is pushed down. I think there's over $6K in damage.

Naga, here's some pics for you as promised...

The Porsche should be done in a month. I'm painting it Viper blue.

the frame does look horribly tweaked, but the car can be replaced. The Porsche would do rather nicely if it had four doors and five seats, but oh the fun you'll have in the meantime

Out of personal curiosity though... is the engine still good? The engine in my 95 C230 is all but shot, running like it should be in a lawn mower. We put a few hundred into it and they recommended we drive it because they installed a bunch of new stuff that needs to be broken in (fuel pump being the main one)
but if the problem doesn't disappear afer 500 miles I may need a new engine, or better yet a new car

Hmm, what type of noise/issues are you having? These older 4 banger from MB are very noisy. The only issues I know of is the "Mass Air Sensor" going on them after 60K miles. In fact mine was already craping out. I haven't heard of these motors going bad in any MB forum. They run on a timing chain and it should be replaced before 100K miles or else you hear soming like a valve tap across the motor.

Update: I have sold the MB.
A freind of mine (I have a lot of friends) that owns a body shop came to see the car. He will write the estimate on Monday and try not to make it a total loss. He will then subtract the amount from the book value of the car and give me a seperate check. This means I sell him the car for fixing or parts and I get book value wich is about $12.5K in two seperate checks.
Yes, this also means I'm in the market for a new car.
Hmm, 300C?, new ML?, new GS, ohhh the choices!
